When you see 10 Tacos on your way to work...

Ok, I don't know what it's like where you live. On the way to work I passed 10 Tacomas on the freeway. That's a lot of us going down the same road. The Tacoma is my truck of choice for many reasons. My question is, how does that make you feel when you are surrounded by other Tacomas in a parking lot or on the road? Proud? Like a sheep? Tacomaworld members love THEiR Tacoma and work to customize it and make it there own. Most owners just drive it off the lot. What do you guys think? Because Ford,Dodge, Chevy and others have abandoned the mid size truck market, have we become the default truck for the less decerning truck owner and are now over saturated?

When I visit my folks in NE Ohio, I'm really suprised to see very few Tacos. I guess it's regional, because they're almost as common as Subarus here.

Seemingly all it is around here is Tacos and Subaru's. I like it that way.

    Same here.

Two capable, well built vehicles. I'm glad that's the majority of what I see.

Many of my co-workers have Tacomas. There are four second gens parked right near eachother behind the building right now, and another will show up in an hour.

OP: I live out in the basin, near Vernal UT in the oilfields. This is Big 3 country yet I see at least 10 Tacomas a day. The closest Toyota dealers are in SLC, 150 miles away.

I was in Denver a few weeks ago and almost every truck I saw was a Tacoma, like 50 or so a day.

I'll see 15 on the way to work. 1 or 2 will be 4 wheel drive. I'm one of them. So I can dig it.

I don't see a lot of Tacomas in Missouri, the land of domestic trucks.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Chevy is back in the midsize market now, and there is talk of Ford coming back soon as well. I don't see many Tacomas around here so I'm one of a kind. This is farm and ranch country, so everybody has a big diesel truck here.

I work in electrical construction and all the trucks we use on the job are 3/4 ton or 1 ton gasser and diesels. I drive a variety of trucks every day, not just mine.

First gens are especially uncommon around here.

The last time I saw a Tacoma was on sunday night. Since then, I've driven 280 miles to and from work. However, I've probably saw 60-80 F-150's or silverados though. lol

I can't count all the Tacos I pass when I drive around here, I don't have that many fingers and toes.

I don't know that I want to stick out.. but it occurred to me that it may have become a "trendy" truck to own (like a F-150).

Yea, Chevy is back in, but I don't see them making a dent in the market. In fact, I still have not seen a single one on the road. I heard Ford and Dodge are coming back too. Meh. I still love the Taco.

This is a very good point. I likely drove past twice as many F-150s or Silverados but I just look past them. I don't really care. I do notice every Taco I see. That is probably why I was struck the way I was this morning. It wasn't new... just hit me. I wondered what others think. Thanks for the responses.

In my region (Ann Arbor/Detroit) it's hard for toyota dealers to compete when everyone has a family member or friend working for the Big 3. I see $40k+ FS domestic trucks being purchased for $30-35k all the time. Most, if not all taco owners I've ever met have been previous gen owners or hardcore enthusiast.

There's a decent amount of Tacomas around here. I always get really excited. My boss just says I'm truck gay. I'm the loser that parks next to other Yotas and takes pictures, so I can post them up here and see if they belong to anyone up here.
