Did I get shorted two speakers?

I was taking a look at the window sticker on my '09 Prerunner and it says I have the upgraded sound system with 4 speakers + 2 in the ceiling and subwoofer. I can find the two tweeters and two speakers on the front doors and the sub is between the two rear seats. I don't see any ceiling speakers though...did I get shorted or am I looking in the wrong spot? I didn't see any in the rear clamshell doors either.

 

I have the same speaker problem in my AC. I turn the radio to all sound output to the rear and do not hear anything. The window sticker says I have ceiling speakers in the rear.

I hate to take it back to the dealer for this.

 

they are up there...if you fade the radio to the rear, the ceiling speakers and the sub will play. you can also turn the radio up and feel the headliner vibrating...they are on the outside of the front seats close to the seam where the access door and front door meet (in the headliner of course...so your not gonna be able to see them).

 

Fadeing to the back did not work for me.

 

Sounds like you have a problem ...... dealer.
I don't see mine, but I hear them.
They suck, you're not missing a lot.

 

I know that is why I am probably not going to bother with the dealer. After all they will want the truck for a day.

I am planning an amp and front speaker install by November, with a little luck.

 

Thanks! Found them by cranking up the radio a bit and putting my hand on the headliner. What a weird spot...

 

FJ cruiser first used these in 2007. Tacoma got them in 2009 in the access cab

Did you have the fade setting to the rear and not the front speakers?

 

Well I'm not overly impressed with them. They seem to be very useless, and the audio output is minimal.
