If I can acquire the energy needed to drive 2 hours to the front range on Saturday and go Xmas shopping, then I'll stay the night in Longmont and go on this trip. I might even have the CB ready for this one!

I may be in for a roll on Bunce / Iron Clads. Takes me about 60 seconds to drive to the Shamrock. My hall pass is TBD, so tag me as a maybe.

I was up in Iron Clads two weeks ago. There was about 8/10 inches of snow. However since then I've been told it has all melted.

I do not have a CB.

I have one that's tuned and works, just need to mount it in a more permanent and convenient location in the cab. I'll try to do that this afternoon.

then you got the WA 4R crew...
    http://youtu.be/SMnL6pZNMZ4

i wish we didn't have so many gates on our trails...some would be fun with a bunch of snow on them....

    some good winter possibilities....

these are all close to each other and/or linkable
    La Salle Pass
    Turner Gulch Road
    Goose Creek Rd
    China Wall

we could head into the area where we did Wuzzy's Run
    Phantom Creek
    Rule Ridge
    Hotel Gulch

    weston pass

    Rock Creek Hills

    Bordenville Gulches

    Geneva Creek

    Slaughterhouse Gulch

not sure whether these all stay open during the winter, but they are all moderate trails that would be run snow runs...shouldn't get too deep during the winter either...

Bob, most of that looks like a easy fire road with snow on it. If you wanted to check out a similar trail up near vail that fire road that goes to Piney lake would be fun!! some ledges though so you wouldnt want to get sliding in certain parts of the trail if they had a bunch of snow!!

yea, moderate trails + snow = fun time and chances are you'll be able to bust your way through the trail making for a full successful day on the trail

if there's a few obstacles along the way = bonus

there might be some good ones in the flattops area as well...a bunch of trails heading out to lakes up there...

would need some good snow though :D
