Time will tell. However the few pics I've seen I'm not liking the 2016. To some the bells and whistles are everything. To me asthetics are a huge thing on a vehicle, you gotta look at it daily and admire it. Kinda like women Ya know you want middle road. All brains and no show = no go and vice versa ...

Single narrow headlights on trucks to me at least look out of proportion. Truth is aside from the small issues many sqwak over the current generation "looks great". Imo of course. Less then a month my decision will be complete.

I'm sure the '16 will be another great Tacoma, but I bought my '14 cause I love the current gen...just the right size for me, and looks awesome. :)

Yes, you have a sharp Tacoma there, no doubt! I'm hoping for a little more room in the drivers seat, possibly blind spot monitoring, etc. If younger, those things would mean next to nothing for me.

Interesting, how the poll is narrowing more toward the 2015 now.

I would have been happy with the 2015, but want to see what changes the 2016's have. I still may go with a 2015.

I'd get a 2015 and if you like the 2016 you can trade it in with only a slight loss on your truck.

Sounds like a good plan. I'm considering it!

I am of the opinion that you never buy a vehicle the first model year because of all the quirky stuff and "little bugs" that don't get worked out during the factory testing. Exactly what Moondeath (and others I'm sure) have stated.... You liked the 15 enough to order it, so I would go through with that and if the 16 is better, you can always trade up for it.

Wait it out. At the very least you get to play the "This is the old model" card and get discount.

If you can get out of the order, and have concerns...cancel. You then have the best of both worlds in that you will be able to see the 2016 in January...if you like it you wait, if you don't like the look / size etc, there is still plenty of time to buy that 2015. If you are considering waiting for a 16, time isn't an issue so bail and wait to compare.

Actually in California, if you trade in a vehicle you are only supposed to be charged sales tax on the difference between the two (though many dealers won't tell you that).....the state gets their tax when the trade in is sold. Sell to a private party and you eat that part of it.

It is now 2014.....the 2015 model year just launched....you should be able to order a 2015 up until spring or early summer of 2015.

Right, I already cancelled my order. However, the dealership is holding my down payment. My ordered 2015 is not even in yet. I will be attending the auto show in Detroit. I expect to go with the 2016, but always a possibility I'll still get the 2015, but doubt if my ordered truck will still be available.

I'd at least wait and see what the 16 has to offer... lots of people on here worry that since it's a new model it'll be full of bugs, but so were the 05s once upon a time.

Even though I voted for getting the 2015, I'll say this about Toyota - my wife bought a brand new '09 Venza (first year they came out) - it's been pretty darn reliable. There were a few recalls (which also hit the Camry and a few others). So far, I've put tires on it. Oh, and it's been in the body shop twice (damn thing is a magnet for getting rear-ended!)

Right, that is my plan, "see what the 2016 looks like". I do feel I'll go with the new model.
