This says it is compatible with any aftermarket HU - I think I will go this route down the road.

 

Installing the tweeters is pretty easy. You can buy some adapter plates from something like ********* or something from http://www.car-speaker-adapters.com/

But after doing mine with one of those brackets, I think I could have just as well done with with plumers tape. That's a metal strip with holes drilled in it. See what this guy did:

It will be covered up by the door so you can't see it. Also the tweeters have a one screw mount on the back of the housing that makes it easy to mount them to the plumers tape.

You'll need some proper speaker brackets for mounting the 6.5" woofers in the factory 6x8 hole.

U just added 4 new 6x9S and a kicker 10" sub. And it sounds great. But for better quality speakers. I have found an amp. Was needed. My factory radio did not have the power to run. The new equipment. I used a kicker 600 watt 4 ch... And it sounds awesome.. Have fun

 

I have a 2015 DCSB with entune, but without JBL. The sound was very quiet compared to my old truck with an aftermarket head unit and some alpine speakers. I wanted to upgrade without losing the new entune unit with nav, bluetooth, camera, etc. I just installed the Alpine power pack and JBL GT7 speakers, 6x9 front and 6.75 for the rear. Huge improvement over stock. All for around $300. Not booming like a subwoofer, but much louder with way better quality.

 

The power pack that is for any "aftermarket HU" worked for on stock receiver? Sorry just making sure lol I wanna try keep the stock look inside because I had my other truck broken into and they ripped out my double din before.

 

Are you getting a hiss like others are using the Alpine powerpack instead of a loc and sep amp?

 

There are two of the power packs. One for alpine head units and one universal one. I used the universal one and wired directly to the radio's power line. It's sounds clean and it's not hissing or anything.

Get yourself some JBL GTO speakers and wire adapters and you just upgraded to a stellar sound system. No mounts or power supply needed.

 

So if you ever wanted to add subs later could you use the signal now coming from the Alpine and wire in a loc or something?

 

Not exactly. But you could bridge the alpine channels for 2 channels rated at 90 watts rms for the fronts and use the stock rears into a LOC for a sub amp. Lots of options.

 

Will putting aftermarket speakers void the factory warranty.
