I finally changed my upstream o2 sensor or AF ratio sensor and I noticed that after starting my truck and letting it run for like 15mins to heat up after I unhooked the battery to reset the computer that is is smoking out of the exhaust a little bit. Doesn't smell much different than it ever has but there is definitely more what seems to be smoke. It was cold and damp to I thought it was more just the normal condensation looking like smoke but it looks like it lingers too long to be just that. Any thoughts?

Its OK, it'll wear away after 50-100 miles. It usually some type of contaminant on the exhaust pipe or fasteners that is burning off - i.e. Liquid wrench, anti-seize, grease, etc.

also the engine will smoke a little as the reset of the fuel air mixture has it out of whack. once the truck settles into the new settings it will run smoother and not smoke on startup.

also as mentioned the lube and whatever you used when replacing the sensor as well as any protective coating that was on the sensor itself needs to burn off and that causres smoke too.

Great to know. Its not smoking at all except out of the actual exhaust pipe. Thanks for the heads up. Also, is there a minimum time the battery has to be unhooked to reset. I did about 5-10mins but have been reading that it needs 20-30mins

30 min is standard for a full reset. Just to be sure.
