Allright... all you guys with customized lowered trucks... you have to send them to the crusher because white+Peal says you don't do that with a truck. Sorry, but those are the rules. Like he said... you should have bought a sports car. :p

You know... if you're going to use the word "retarded" to insult people, you should at least learn how to spell it. Sorry... I know this is an internet forum and not english class, but come on! While I'm venting, here's something that bugs the shit out of ME: People who are too lazy to spell "you". What is so hard about that? It's only two more keystrokes than "u" and it'll spare you from looking so ignorant. A little proper use of capitalization, punctuation and grammar wouldn't hurt either. This isn't texting.

It's been said several times already, but it bears saying again... it's about personal preference. We all like different things - and that's GOOD. You don't have to LIKE it to respect it. If it's not your thing, fine... that doesn't mean it's "retarted". Anybody can walk into a dealership and buy a sports car. It takes skill to (properly) convert a truck like this - and when you're finished, you have something fairly unique... something that you don't see every five minutes driving down the road. If you build in the extra performance to back up the looks, you can have a real fun vehicle on your hands. Honestly, they really aren't my thing either (lowered I like, but bagged to the GROUND... not so much) but regardless, I really respect the craftsmanship that goes into them.

i'm personally not a fan of slammed pick ups, lifted looks better in my opinion. but if you dont need extra ground clearance of having a lift, whats the point. its all preference and what you use the truck for

hauling loads in my truck (which is dropped, not slammed...yet) is a world of difference from stock height. it is much safer, much less body roll and much more stable on the freeway. granted, i can't haul as much as a double cab longbed if you put stuff in the cab as well...but i can haul more than stock safely and with more assurance.

to each his own on the "style" of your truck though

I just think its funny how some on here are mad because a truck isnt being used as a truck..... I can haul full sheets of 4x8 plywood or sheetrock in my 89 Grand Caravan and lock them up. I need a rack to do the same on my Tacoma. Dont get me wrong i love my truck, but come on, if you want to haul hogs in your beemer or nothing in the bed of a pickup isnt it your own personal decision??? I dont own a motorcycle but I like them, dirt or street. I like all trucks whether its a 40 yr old beat to shit farm truck or a slammed Mazda, its all good. Hell Im not fond of war but I keep finding myself in Iraq.:D:D:D:D:deadhorse:

Why has no one brought up the phrase "sport truck"? It wasn't created today. I had a removable hardtop convertible 1982 Toyota lowered 2" but not slammed for quite awhile back in the 80's then in the 90s it went prerunner with snugtop & no convertible & lifted 3" with double tube bumper, roll bar & prerunner bar up front. Who cares what people do to their trucks? Some don't need to haul shit, some do. Some wanna go fast, some want mpg. Some want inconspicous, some want to stand out. Some want to go offroad, some don't. Some want to worry about every little knick or scratch, others want a care free beater. The usefullness is in the eye of the owner, not the beholder. What is useful to one is useless to another, so what! Trucks can be anything, cars cannot. Not understanding the original confusion. Real simple, do what you feel like doing to whatever rides you have & everyone else is free to do the same. You don't have to like what other people do & vice versa. Being confused about why someone would do something one way or another is a different story. Ask & find out if it's unclear. Flaming about one way or another without knowing or just because it's not your choice is complete ignorance.

Someone started a thread asking about slammed pickups, clearly indicating they felt the same way about them that I do. I hate them, so I said that and elaborated why.

I never said we need to make it illegal to slam pickups, or that everyone needs to use a vehicle for what it was made for. What I said was that I don't understand taking something that can serve a specific useful purpose and trying to spend a lot of money and engineering effort making it into something else entirely different. Additionally, I think they look horrible.

The point many people are missing is that I'm not trying to prevent people from doing whatever they want with their vehicles. If I see a slammed pickup, I'm not going to run it over in anger.

The thing I hate about the crowd saying "WTF DONT U GET IT?!?!?! LOL ITS THERE RITE TO DO IT!!!!!!11111ONEONEONE" is the double standard.

Yes, everyone with a slammed pickup has the right to have one if they so choose. It is MY right to post about how much I hate them in some forum, unless the owner of the forum chooses to disallow me from posting, since it is HIS right to run this thing however he'd like.

A slammed truck is like a man without balls, you can’t really call it a truck anymore.

If that's the case....then why are you driving a tacoma?

Drive one of these and you can have 'bragging rights' to having BIG BAD ASS BALLS.

Thanks for the good read. It's always fun to watch people argue over how they FEEL about something. To each their own, not my scene but I respect the art behind it. Do you go to an art museum and like every painting, every sculpture?

For those of us that actually go wheeling, lifting our trucks has the purpose of utility, AND we see it as a form of expressing who we are through our trucks.

While slamming a truck doesn't necesasrily have utility (some might say handling, but for the most part it handles like a truck with no suspension, LOL) - it is more of an expression than something driven by necessity or utility.

4x4 - Function first, THEN form. We worry about which UCA / parts we're using, NOT because of looks, but for their purpose.

Lowrider - Form first, THEN function. They worry about trim, panels, paint, upholstery, etc because of their looks, not always for their purpose.

Some won't see eye to eye because it's a different mindset, but we're more alike than you'd think.

Keep riding, keep modding and blink those headlights if you meet me on the road.

My .02 - don't flame me for simply having an opinion, LOL

hate is a strong word over something that is so petty. i'm sure there are other things in your life that you can "hate".post away as much as you want, it just proves what you are.

that is stupid and so are you

What I see when I see a lowered truck is a pit bull a nut sack. That’s my opinion and this is a public forum so don’t take it personal.
