I'm a huge diesel fan but I definitely wouldn't buy one until there was ample aftermarket support to rip off all the EPA garbage. Like many things, the EPA has managed to ruin the diesel.

This exactly. My friend just spent 5 grand removing all the emission stuff, and adding in a tuner.

He went above and beyond what was needed to remove it but it turned that duramax from a tough puller to a tire melting monster.

I love my cummins 5.9 it's a beast. I get better mpg with my 3/4 ton than the taco. Even with the taco in the bed of the cummins :)

Me thinks you don't know much about them. Pretty much all Big Rigs have Straight setups. This is for a reason. Cummins knows this and this is why it has a Straight 6 in the Dodges.

same engine. Toyota has already said that the ’16 tundra is getting the same 5.0 V8 cummins.

With they would bring the 5.9 i 6 back and put that in them both.

Source? (And yes, the 5.9 was a fantastic motor. Never had any issues with it.)

It'll be interesting to see what they do with regards to chipping and modding the 5.0.

Ford knows it too that's why their real trucks (the F650,F750) use the same Cummins motor that the moron Powerjoke fanboys always rag on. Why is that?

I find this funny when people try and say ford’s powerstock is the best strongest on the road. the 6.0 was a POS unless you spent 8+k on it. 6.4 was not much better. Also why do so many fords have Cummins swaps if the powerstrock was so much better?
