My TRD seats are fantastic. Yes my back hurts after 3 hours of driving but it hurts like that no matter what car I am in. Its my back, not the seats.

Tons of dudes on here are saying, "what's wrong with them, how are they uncomfortable."

I can sit in good seats for 17 hrs of driving and my back doesn't hurt. In these seats I can't drive 1 hour without pain. The body requires support in a seated position to maintain alignment of joints. America invented the recliner and big cushy seats that don't support the body. We also have the most back problems, etc of any country in the world. (there are other contributing factors) but I believe it all revolves around a huge lack of body awareness and health.

The most expensive vehicles in the world have seats that support the body, unlike an american recliner and poor padding. This may be a Japanese owned company, but the product is 100% for the american market. It really is disappointing that in a truck that costs over $30,000, the seats are so poorly padded, designed, and upholstered.

These seats are not designed to support the body properly. That requires firmness in the right places. The headrest is too far forward causing an unnatural curvature of the neck and upper back. Forward or backward tilt maybe a cause too according to what some say on here, I just haven't looked into that yet.

That's a surpremely overly generalized statement. I find the headrest angles and support areas to be perfectly comfortable. Leaning my head back to the headrest feels great, and molded to.me.

Sorry your seats don't work for you, but all this bullshit about american seats and other anal smoke is grinding.

Human bodies are incredibly unique, as is what people find comfortable and uncomfortable. Because your skeleton and tissue isn't comfortable in something doesn't mean the worlds auto manufacturers are shit. Its a seat, meant to be personalized for each driver. Personalize it. I don't know why it has to be rehashed like the sky is falling.

I really only begin to get uncomfortable when I take the truck on a long trip, other than that I am nominally comfortable

PeeRunner. Look at the seats from the side. Line up the back of the seat with the headrest angle. If its comfortable, then you are comfortable in an improper and misaligned posture. I never said they can't be comfortable, but they aren't in a proper body biomechanics position.

People that don't understand anal smoke usually do get frustrated with it. To each his own, but my smoke is backed up by science bucko. Ever seen a heat analysis of the body in a seated position in non-supporting seats, vs properly designed seats. The body generates muscle tension unnaturally, resulting in fatiguing muscles and "hot spots". Hot spots...not smoke.

I removed my headrest, put the legs in vice and bent it back about an inch. Reinstall headreat and viola, no more head forward.

Squawk all you want about your body and your seat, bud. You're the leading non expert on mine and my seat, however.

If you want perfect seats for your posture and body, go make them. You seem to have it nailed to simple math. Great.

Peerunner, isn't this what a forum is all about. People asking questions when they don't know something; others offering suggestions, often sharing professional, hard earned advise without fee. Some read for entertainment, some read to find someplace to interject and argue,...we are all her for different reasons. People keep asking "why are they uncomfortable, after 7 pages noone explained it. I did. If you hate me for being more patient and educated on this subject than you...have a great life. I know I am because I'm above your petty insult and feel enlighten being reminded of that fact. Have a merry christmas.

for me, i'm gonna try the Katskin upgrade and get extra padding put in and then consider the risers. I learned something here.

Hey guys everyone has an opinion much like they have a bunghole.

    But here's my 2 cents.

I'm 20yrs old 5'9" 170-200lbs. No back problems, active, etc. I have a long torso, and short legs, so adjusting the seat to a decent position is challenging.
For being stock seats, they are not the worst, nor are they remotely close to the best. For what they are, I can't complain. I have found that after 30 minutes to an hour of driving I start to get a little restless compared to driving my mothers escape. Its hard to have ground to complain on when you drive long trips in any vehicle. It is hard for me to get comfortable at all, as the seat feels sloppy to me. I'm always moving around trying to find a position that I can stay in for a while. However for off-road they do have a nice firm hugging type of fit. I have been driving 5 to 6 hrs each Saturday to go snowboarding and it seems to be a battle just getting comfortable. I do agree with some of the other posts that comment on the seats not being proper for your body, but what vehicle seat is? My hopes are that the future Tacoma's may address a higher standard of seating much like the ford raptor has. On another note, if you don't like the seating then just change them? I plan on purchasing some higher end suspension or racing seats in the future to play to my comforts. I think the big problem here is we are looking for high end "lambo" type seating in a truck. What's dropping $1200 for a pair of seats when its going into a truck that will last you long enough to pay for its self? On a plus side aftermarket seats will probably protect you more than stock ones in the case of an accident. Best of luck with solving your issues!
    Happy Holidays,
    Ribby

Test drove a 2015 TRD Sport today. Seats seemed better than those in my '02 SR5. Wife immediately hated the headrest. Too bad that the only way to tell if the seats will be OK is to buy one.
