    1) the difference between 33F and 31F can be important
    2) HD weather is usually from closest airport, not vehicle location
    3) HD not available everywhere
    4) Seriously? You have HD radio in Minot?

gah 2 posts in the wrong thread. pfft.

    anyway :

only problem with this, canyon is 212" length, Tacoma is 208". wont be able to fit a canyon in the garage.

so that solves my problem :)

you get HD weather from any clear channel station. not that hard to find one.

33 and 31 air temp is a wash. ground/road temp is more important which will not always be the same as air/ambient temp.

and you can still die from exposure at 33F as you can at 31F.

WOW... and the OP from the other thread was accused of being drunk...lol

Based on his use of english, I assumed he was just raised in a barn.

Have been unable to find HD weather in Sioux Falls, and that's got to be close to 4x size of Minot, and definitely not where I live. Never said anything about exposure... likely to be differing amounts of ice at 33F vs. 31F. Knowing the outside temp has just dropped below freezing can be useful info.

Yes, I did, and I totally understand what you say about not wanting fancy electronics which will eventually break. But why is it not even offered? I do like those things, and at the same price point, I can now get it. Just not in a tacoma, which saddens me. Same price, better truck--gmc. I'm not the only one in this camp. Keep an eye out for all the gmc canyons and chevy colorados on the road in 2015. Shaking my head in sadness.

cyakker, Knowledge. I don't get HD radio in Rapid either. Like I said it just bothers me. I move air for a living and I like to know what outside ambient is. and I definitely agree with what you said regarding air temp falling below freezing mark.

I work for a gmc dealer and we've had a few canyons in, I am totally in impressed. I was somewhat excited for them to come out because I thought the pictures looked good, however once in person definitely got let down. Leaf springs are already bending backwards and way too soft. I tried to sit in the back seat with the drivers seat set to where I like it and being only 6' my knees were digging into the back of the seat. The tail gate has a easy drop function which totally sucks if you let go of it from any height other than closed. And it is a gmc.

With all that said, that was a fully loaded model with heated seats and all of the gadgets for 47k. I'm sorry but for 30k I'll take a tacoma and 1 year of what you save in payments buy a 1st gen taco or 4 runner and build it. There are a lot of things that can come in a new model but it's always going to add onto the price and for what those canyon/colorados are going for I would rather have less.

Better truck, huh? First of all, why'd you buy a truck you didn't like and why didn't you buy the "better" truck? Sure, better... That's why the Tacoma is renowned as it is and this forum has 100,000+ members. It's worse than a GMC.

Chopper678, I get it. Here's a guy on a tacoma forum saying gmc is a better truck. Your tone speaks volumes about how you feel. But I'll answer your questions and speak in facts. Heck, I stood the same as you not long ago. I didn't buy the gmc originally because it was redesigned for 2015, therefore wasn't available when I purchased my 2014 Tacoma earlier this year. Coming from an 09, what did I get? Fewer miles, a new grille, and headlights. Period. Everything crossed over from my 2009; right down to the weathertech floor mats and seat covers (leather, since it's not offered from toyota). Now let me tell you something else. I owe 34k on my pre runner, but is only worth 25k. It has depreciated 10k over less than 1 year! It has 7400 miles, one oil change! I've always heard Tacoma held its value--not in my experience. Performed my due diligence, went to carmax, and two dealers. Bottomline--I'm angry. I made these posts to let others know where your truck stands, as least in Dallas. Oh and btw, I paid 34k for a pre runner, but am getting a 4wd gmc with all the bells and whistles (not even offered on tacoma) for 37k. Come on man, a small part of you has to at least partially agree theres something wrong with that.

Yeah, but in 5 years when your truck is paid off it will still be worth 20K. Any car looses most of it's value in the first year.

The extra was due to the 2009 being upside down when I traded it in. Hence any "hosing" was still due to depreciation.
