Thanks guys. I need to add some resin filler to some thinner areas but over all it fits the hole really well.

The second area has a 1/4" recessed lip for a hinged door (which I still need to build). It's basically just a storage pocked. I hated to see that space go to waste since I was making something custom.

I totally destroyed the second area mold trying to get it out so I will have to rebuild that for the other side.

Can't wait to see the finished product, and a potentially marketable one too. At least for the truck camper crowd.

haha I really don't know if I would want to do that again. It was just a theory that I had. I had the time and money (or so I thought) to do it but it's taking way longer and more money then expected (doesn't it always).

Each canopy would be different and would need a different mold. Definitely not a business I would want to do but I guess if a company wants to pay me for the designs then I would be fine with that. :D

I will keep you guys posted of my progress. I am hoping to have this done for my trip to Idaho on Wed.

Nice, if you don't mind how much?

I'm waiting for a cheap used one to pop up and then have it painted.

$320. They didn't removed the windows or anything. Just taped things off. Over all its a good paint job. You get what you pay for

Ya, good think I don't have anything to do right now. My wife is making all the money and I am in between quarters in school.

It will have about a 2.5-3" overlap. I will be using either be using silicone or rubber seal between it and the canopy and lots of stainless steel bolts, washers, and nylocs.

Did a power steering fluid change and plasti dipped my TRD fauxlock rings black. I'm still contemplating whether to put them back on or not. It looks good without them on as well!

I say put the ring back on as silver. Plenty of silver Tacoma with black rims. Stand out and.... be different ;) But it's up to you.

I'm gonna run them without the rings for a while. I've got a set of ss set screws on order from Fastenal to put into the holes (factory bolts are too long without the fauxlock). Rings have already been plasti dipped, but it's always reversible.

I have a MGM and painted my rings black. Love the look with the chrome bolts that hold the rings on.
