Cool. I was just making sure the reAr sight wasn't part of the frame or backplate like on some others. I have yet to fondle one. Last week Bud's here didn't even have one.

as far as I know the P30 sights are the same as the VP9. I haven't gotten to shoot mine yet, but playing around with it, the trigger is excellent and the grip is great IMWO

I so far have no regrets selling my Glock for this. Probably because I got $680 for my Glock lol

Hard to pass up $680 for a Glock but if they were side by side and the same price I'd still take the Glock. It's also much cheaper so that's another thing it has going for it. Fortunately, it's America and I'm not forced to choose and that's why I have all of the above. :D

It took me 25 years and countless bricks of ammo, but I managed to wear out the bolt on a Ruger Mark II. FTE/FTF malfs. The Volquartsen bolt that had been on backorder for weeks finally showed up! I probably could have gotten away with rebuilding the factory bolt again, but it's showing significant wear and figured the VQ bolt would be a nice upgrade.

Ya, the factory design is kind of antiquated.

I dont have one of them yet. Thats on the list. But, I do have one of his daughters. She started a spin off company and sells them in the $60-$100. I love it, much better than stock. I can only imagine what the top quality is like.

    Interesting, didn't know that.
I have been a fan of Timneys for years in my and kids hunting rifles as well. I know there are higher quality triggers but, I feel they are tough to beat in that price range.

I'll send you the link when my brother gets back to me. I needed a cheaper upgrade since I didnt want to drop that much at the time. When I upgrade again this will go into my DPMS AR. For that weapon it is more than adequate.
The difference between the LMT stock trigger and the one I got are fucking HUGE.

I can only imagine how much the Geissele difference would be from what I have now.

Kind of the same as the Pyramid trigger I put in the Glock over stock. Night and day.

To me, the trigger is one of the most important upgrades available, IMO.

Also, Geissele supplies the SOCOM community so if its good for them, then its good for me.

I spent some time as an armorer repairing all kinds of Army issued weapons for cool guy units and I've never seen one in an actual issued rifle. (they were mostly factory HK416's) That doesn't mean they don't exist or aren't available, but just that they aren't used for whatever reason. Personally, I like the Rock River two stage with a polish job, but I'm old school.

    Interesting.

I am not saying I know for a fact or have talked to any socom guys. I can only go off what I have read.
I'll read up on the Rock River though.

I assume you're talking about ALG which is his wife. The ACT is my favorite sub-$100 AR15 trigger.

I have no doubt some dudes have them, but they really hammer the dog shit out of their weapons. Like smoke a barrel in a year hammer them. I don't know what the annual round count is for those dudes, but it's significant. That said, my buddy had a SSA-E trigger in a personal AR (Colt) that would occasionally have a light primer strike, even after he replaced the spring. It wasn't a big deal on a training weapon, but I wouldn't want to deploy with one. Know what I mean? Now, I'm sure there are thousands of those triggers that work just fine and it may have just been that lot of green tip, or his cleaning habits, who knows. In the end, it doesn't matter what trigger you have as long as you can hit what you are aiming at.

My brother bought it for me. I'll let you know when the info comes in for sure, now I am curious. I always knew it would be replaced so I didn't really look into it to much.

username, since you were an armorer, in the heavy fire groups what charging handle did you find to work the best? As far as the rolling pin wear, bending the shaft, etc.

I employ the support hand only rack, so strength of the handle is key. I also want a bigger latch to catch with the palm, finger, etc.

I'm looking for an AR 15.
