Updated the future mod list aka bumping my build cuz I'm a bastard

 

Tried to teach my sister about 4lo/mall crawling today I want my front bumper already


Soooo heres some things I need to get done:
Replace Serpentine Belt
Flush and replace Coolant
Figure out/order a new clutch and fix that along with the TOB
Order Total Chaos LT
Order new leaf pack
Brake lines and bumpstops and all that jazz
Figure out ORIs or coilovers *cries cuz anxiety*
Install my custom SOS front bumper (on order)
BUY A WINCH - Can't wait
Figure out something to do about my CB antenna
Figure out something to do about the fact that I can't see behind me (camera maybe?)
Order some 4.88s and an ARB
Order some 37s
Cut 4 inches out of my fenders and bumpers
Cut my cab mount back farther
Get a snorkle cuz obviously it's necessary with everything else

ummm

and oh yeah buy a winning lottery ticket to pay for this crap

Plus after I cut fenders I can use the "OMG my filter is open in the wheel well" excuse

 

And it looks bad ass as fuck. I almost hydrolocked my prerunner doing some mudding when I couldn't push the water wave anymore. I want a snorkel just to prevent that experience from happening again. I was terrified

 

The snorkel is the only mod I can honestly say I regret doing.

There's too much sitting water here to not dive into

 

- at the time I did mine only the hilux model was available and it's not the best fit/finish.
- the "plumbing" is not straightforward, I tried several different variations until settling for what I've got now.
- there are alternate and more effective intake relo mods.
- it's permanent unless you fill in & repaint the a pillar and get a new fender
- dumbass people keep asking wtf it is...
- I could go on.

 

I'd go with the airflow. Jamie said he wishes he could redo it with an airflow because fitment and plumbing made it a pain in the ass. I couldn't do that arb one lol I'm too ocd

Looks only go so far bud. You'll do better to go with function over looks.
That said, I personally can't stand the look of the airflow model. The new ARB design looks promising though....

 

Whuuut! I really like the airflow look. The only thing I like about the hilux model is the head of it. The rounded airflow one looks strange

 

Yeah this is true. I always said the I wanted a snorkel just for looks, never gonna be in water that deep. Although I have heard that it does better performance wise than a CAI

 

I ran a cai with the snorkel at one time. The intake air temp on my scangauge was the same as the ambient outside air temp. That's about as good as it can get.
Unfortunately it was a PITA to set up - I really monstered the whole thing together and cut up a bunch of stuff I really shouldn't have.
