    when i was twelve, i took a hunter safety course. the guy teaching was pretty good. he had a shotgun in his hands talking about chamber status..."how do you know by looking at it that it's not loaded?" he then procedes to start jacking shells all over the room, bouncing them off students...left an impression on me that i haven't forgotten. "until you check the breach yourself, ALWAYS assume every gun is loaded."
