I forget who wanted to see my dash cam in the truck but here it is.

And a view from outside looking in. Might dip the chrome ring to conceal it a little better but I like to think maybe someone knowing there's a camera there would scare a thief away.

But the camera's only powered when the truck is running, no? So a thief would either be not on camera and breaking into your truck, or they'd be breaking into your truck while it's running and you're in the drivers seat?

Aaaaah but the clutter. I wonder if there is a way to get a smaller one. So what does it store footage to? Need to be dumped every few days?

 

I've only had an original rockstar and it tasted like liquid smarties with a bitter aftertaste.

If has a motion detector in it so even when it's off it will start recording if it detects motion. I have it shut off because for starters, I don't live in the ghetto or travel to the ghetto, and more importantly if someone wants my truck they can have it. I've got insurance

If some dumbass thief walks up and doesn't know any better and sees what looks like a camera on the windshield, it might scare him away. It also might not.

 

Like I said, too much. Plus whatever that is hanging from your rearview mirror. I don't like anything limiting my view through the windshield personally.

 

He's not saying you have too much but it's just visually cluttered so it looks like too much is going on. People say too much is going on on our tailgates with the like 4 or 5 chrome badges.

It cuts the videos into 5 minute segments. When the card gets full it deletes the oldest clip and continues to do so until you lock a clip then it won't delete that one. But with my memory card it records long enough for me to grab the camera and take it in and pull whatever I want off of it.

Me too. Plus the Taco has limited view as it is. For anyone mounting anything to the windshield I definitely advise the riser.
