There are some called "Point of Use" tankless water heaters. I don't know much about them or how well they work. But they seem a lot cheaper than the Insinkerator unit. If you search on "Point of use tankless water heater", you should be able to find more information.

The one below requires a hard-wired 240 volt connection. Probably overkill for a drinking water dispenser. They do have a 110 version as well. It might be fine for a drinking water heater.

I have the insinkerator but with instant hot only. My cold water is filtered through my fridge.

The unit is not filtered as far as I know.

 

I think many of you are aware of, or already loyal patrons of, Lee Valley. I have ordered just a few things from them, and received good service on hard-to-find or high-quality items.

About 2 weeks ago I ordered $100 of stuff, including a gift card for my BIL for Christmas. UPS sent notification of delivery on the front porch. We were out at the time. Package was not there, checked entire proprety, checked with neighbors, etc. Initiate investigation claim with UPS and Lee Valley, and bummed that my gift for BIL (in San Diego, and we a leaving for there on an 8-hour drive Tuesday) turned to a shit sandwich thanks to some porch-poaching crack-head following the brown truck down the street.

Honestly, I expect nothing from either party and to eat it.

Lee Valley responds with starting a claim with UPS, and is emailing me a replacement e-gift card for BIL immediately, and wil be reshipping the other items free of cost and shipping to me next week (to my work address, which is where I generally have everything sent).

Customer for life.

Why don't more businesses understand this?

While I'm waiting for the second set if these to steam I figured I build a jobsite travel table for the 12 inch dewalt.

Going to set the top up with hinges to throw cords air houses and just act as a nice bench when the saws not in it. Taking bets as to how long before one of my guys puts a saw blade through it. Nice thing about it us I can add stops or supports when ever I need it. And I can leave it on jobs with more peice of mind than the sliding stand.

 

Building a toboggan ?

 

Possibly. Or nice ash firewood every 3 that bend one snaps.

 

I figured out that it was not filtered. Even with adding a filter I am still under budget for the purchase.

Our old fridge had filtered water through the door. No manufacture offers just filtered water through the door anymore. You have to have ice through the door to get filtered water through the door. Ice through the door takes up too much room on the inside of the fridge.

 

I've used mineral spirits and a flathead screwdriver ("carefully", or strong plastic scraper) to remove silicone from porcelain, ...so "if" mineral spirits is safe for granite you could try that...

 

I got the dust deputy w/ the 10gal steel drum (offered as a kit w/ the cyclone), and glad I did... provides a fairly stable base and the lid that comes on it doesn't require reinforcement (I hate having to modify things after purchase just to get it to work decently)... Oneida offers specials/discounts from time to time...

Thanks. I'm new to granite (we had tile first, replaced with silestone) but I'll try and find razor blades and go that way. I have no clue if they're sealed or anything at all about them so for now I'm only using water, until I read up on granite more. The porcelain bath sinks are in the same granite countertops as the kitchen, so I'll figure something out. Maybe that'll be usable, would make it easy.

 

Are you planning that the saw be recessed as you have it in the previous pic ?

 

Yes. It will sit inside so the table top is flush with the top of the saw.

 

That doesn't make adjusting the bevel and mitre a pain in the ass ?

I'd keep a bay open in the front to easily swing the mitre. I don't think he'd have to close it in all the way.

 

The center is open with enough room to do all settings on the saw. Full range of motion and clearence for hands to move it.

 

I guess it's different than my sliding saw , didn't really consider that , I've always made a plywood box with the saw on top
