Best tanks of this year are past, temps dropping soon.

581.9 miles on 18.779 gallons for 31.0 mpg.

Typical 5 weeks between fillup, $66 or average $57 a month for gas. :D

A poll on average $$$ per month would be interesting.

Yes I have noticed a difference. I get slightly better fuel economy with the top tier brands, maybe 1-1.5MPG at best. Yes my results are real, been tested many times over many fillups using the same pumps at the same stations, during the same seasons (so there isn't any summer gas vs winter gas effect). Regarding value, it's more or less a wash in my book: cheap gas yields fewer miles, expensive gas yields more miles. That's why I run Chevron 90% of the time... given a choice, I prefer to go more miles between fillups just because I don't like hanging out at fuel stations. Plus there's a Chevron 2 blocks from my home :D But I haven't noticed the truck running any smoother on one brand over another, it always runs good :D

Isn't that kind of information available on Fuelly.com?

    Filled up today- 427.5 miles - 18.71 gallons = 22.8 MPG

300 miles of hi-speed interstate, rest was 3.5 mile trips back and forth to work

It's been a while since I posted. I was at 22.7 for the longest while and then the my gauge started giving me a negative sign before my average MPG. So I restored the system defaults and I'm working on a tankful now. Before it turns here I'd like to get a bit of a baseline. Glad to see you folks are maintaining nice FE!

613.7 miles on 18.914 gallons for 32.5 mpg.

Better tank than last even though weather has been cooler. Reason was drive to Rocky Mountain National park, and 2 trips to Denver.

With $0.50 gas discount from Safeway $2.869.

I'm surprised it still gets the mileage it does spinning faster. Four tanks I've filled since I quit using 5th gear and after subtracting 3.9% for odometer error it's gotten 20.1, 20.9, 21.7, and 22.3 mpg.

Now I just gotta get that tranny torn apart and some new bearings put in so I can stop spinning 2700+ rpm everywhere :p

Are you holding the same speed or have you dropped a little?

Same speed, I still set the cruise at 57 mph to and from work.

The 20.1/20.9 tanks were a reunion trip. Much of that was at 72 mph / 3400 rpm.

I've been getting 20mpg. The last tank I filled up with deathanol free gas and got 22.9. I'll see what I get when this next tank of deathanol free is done. The last tank had a bottle of techron in it but I doubt that had anything to do with the mileage.

Can't say if you are a good or bad driver. But it should get a little better as the engine loosens up over the next 50,000 miles, and as you use the AC less.

579.5 miles with 19.246 gallons for 30.1 mpg.

It's been a warm October but winter is here high of 17 predicted for Wednesday.

    479.3 on 18.338 for 26.1 mpg.

I'm guessing everyone else is getting poor mpg too and ashamed to post?

Let's hear the bad with the good. :p

I cant keep the average up as high on the Scangauge as it was in warmer weather :(
I'll post the next tank, I've made some changes and had the battery disconnected and reset the trip meter.
Thinking of trying the warm air mod to the stock filter box just to see if it will make any difference?

Filling up tomorrow after running errands. Expecting around 21 MPG. Not many highway miles this tank.

I've been getting ~22mpg the last few fillups... no shame there but still a few points off my summer average of 24-25mpg. I love the fact that I actually have 2 vehicles in my 2-car garage.

Things are gonna get a lot tougher for me. I just moved to .7 miles walking, 1.1 mile driving from work. I might start biking to work, and then if I need to drive anywhere, pedal on back home.

I hate not driving anywhere long enough to reach full temperature, and that isn't possible with this situation.

But I can now have a few Avery beers after work and not have to drive home.

Like you, I have a lot of 3 mile back and forth trips to work. Rarely does the coolant temp reach normal of 190°(UltraGauge displayed) in that amount of time, much less the oil reaching the moisture evaporation temp. This is about the time of year the Mayo starts forming under the oil fill cap. Time for a extended drives once a week or so. Today is one of those days, going to Trader Joe's and it is a 65 mile round trip.

Yep, drove 35 miles round trip to Costco knowing it was doing my motor good. I'll be looking for excuses to take longer trips.
