Truck just got tint......ggggrrrrrrrr

I just picked up my truck from the tint shop. And WOW it looks like shit. The edges aren't straight. They didn't peel away the backing on part of the driver side rear door. The lower portion of the sliding window isn't even fkn trimmed. I can see light through the edges. WTF. I can see and feel grit throughout the tint. I picked it up as they were closing so I didn't really have a chance to inspect it w/ them. You can bet your a$$, I will be there first thing in the am. They will have one chance to fix it. Or I want my money back. AAAARRRRRGGGGHHH. Thanks, for letting me vent.

I'm gonna give em' a chance to fix it. But it better be perfect the 2nd time around. They've had enough practice the first time.

sucks bro-luckily my best friend owns a tint shop and trains people from all over the world and at SEMA.. He is a tint genious!! meticulous as shit and only uses Llumar which is by far the best film.. No excuses for it being sub par let alone what you described..

did you research the shop before you went there?

 

let us know who it is so no others make the same mistake..

 

Before you go back, take a ton of pictures. Inside and out side. Make detailed notes on what is wrong.
Then...
Nice and calm, point out the problems and explain how you would like them to remove the tint completely and start over. You don't want a touch or cleanup to the crap they already did, you want them to start from scratch.
If they take care of it to your satisfaction, all is good, if they don't you go to another shop have them fix and document what they had to do and you go to small claims court. With all the pictures and documentation, they wont stand a chance. Might even take a couple of pictures while your at the shop if they give you a hard time and let them know why your doing it. i tint windows for aliving... ur right.. its unacceptable.....just take it back up there.. get teh manager...point out all the imperfection and ask them to redo it. it should have a lifetime warranty on it.

There were no reviews online. But the place is near my house and has been in business for a while. Actually it's a auto repair shop that contracts one of it's bays to a tint guy. But I did pay the actual repair shop. If there's a problem I can always contact the repair shops corporate office.

 

Wow that's BS man. Def. document their F ups and have them take care of business. If they still do a crappy job get your money back and take your business elsewhere.

 

F-that! Get your money back and then go to a reputable shop. If they F'd it up that bad in the first place, then they definitly don't deserve a second chance for your money.

 

I get all my cars done at the indoor swap meet, on decater & oakey . The guys name is Avi, great work. Sorry to here about your tint experiance, there are alot of bad tint places in this town.

 

On my lunch break I took my truck back to the shop. I talked to somebody who said he ended firing the tint installer after I left yesterday. He was bringing in another guy who used to work there but has been going to school to to my truck again. Then if I was not satisfied he would give me a complete refund. He is also gonna install the glare strip for no extra cost.

My neighbor, who is a cop, told me that if the shop offers to redo it, I have to allow them. Then if they screw up a 2nd time I can take them to small claims court when I don't recieve a complete refund.

So, we'll see what happens this afternoon.
