    Hey all,

the tacoma is the first 4x4 that i have owned and i was looking to find a simple trail that i could test out the truck on. maybe a place that needs a truck, but that doesnt need a 4x4. i want to concentrate more on getting a feel for the 4 wheel drive and how to operate all the 4x4 features of the truck rather than worrying about the technicalities of the trail.

so, does anyone know of a simple trail in so cal (near los angeles) that i could do this on?

    thanks :)

Angeles forest would probably be the closest, but most of it is probably closed cause of the fires. San Francisquito Canyon or one of the surrounding trails are good trail to start off with, nothing technical or difficult, or if you dont mind driving a little farther out then hit up Gorman theres something for everyone

Dude! You should have came to Cleghorn with us on Saturday. Its perfect. Just a main fire road with bypasses ranging from easy to difficult. I reccomend that place.

Do it before every panel on my truck needs to be 'color matched' - I'll feel better.

Last run I did up there was 6n24 to 7n01 , if you take it north until it ends you end up near Lake Hughes. Its pretty easy run, theres a few bypasses but for the most part its easy.

Or like some of the others have mentioned Cleghorn is a cool run, just a farther drive if your coming from LA

Funny you say that... I was just thinking how lucky I am that my gallie likes to go with me and how it's too bad (sometimes) that guys don't bring their women. I just got back from a killer camping/wheeling/hot springs/fishing trip that would have been good with another couple or two.

Congrats and just don't forget to warn her when you are going to 'six flags' - in other words when it may get a little crazy. My gal has yet to tell me we need to turn around - on out last one, I had to say it cause I didn't want her to get burned out on spotting.

    EDIT: Here're some pics:
