I'm takin er in for a tranny fluid change, im almost to 90k miles. wonder what upsells they are going to try and get me on.
I get free oil changes , washes and 20% off parts/service so that's a win for me lol.
I'm thinkin I will have them change the rear diff fluid too.I would do it but it will be there and I wont have to get dirty.:)

If your so worried about what the "stealership" is going to get you on. Then you could just change the fluid yourself, at your own home, and do the rear diff.

What they will do is change your transmission oil and then try to convince you to have them do more work on your truck. Maybe a tuneup, radiator flush, etc.

They're going to recommend a Kanuder Valve Adjustment on your Johnson Rod......but I could only vote for one.

It's a sealed tranny, and I don't have any equipment to do it. But the rear diff will be done by me. They wanted $100 to change the fluid lol
they asked about brake fluid flush, injector cleaner, steering fluid and coolant lol I already did the first two myself :)
and I'm having the driveline "clunk" checked out.
Oh I'm not worried about this dealer, I'm just poking fun

My mistake guys, didn't know the 2nd generation were sealed for an automatic. But I guess you can still do the rear diff oil change.

so I got it back, drove around a bit... the driveline "clunk" appears to be gone, as are some low speed vibrations. It really has never been this smooth driving lol
I got to get up there in the daylight and see what they touched.
I only paid for the tranny service.

the sealed trany does not have a dip stick just a bolt you take out like your diff.when it's full fluid should dribble out.this is just what i remember from the sealed tranny's on the olds alero.the only thing i remembered that sucks is once the engine is warm it taking the fluid level bolt out or back in you could get a little burn.depending if the bolt is close to the exhaust.

That has a whole different meaning on a non-automotive forum.
