    You get certified whenever a company test you for a certain form of welding and position. Like after today I should be certified for flux core and sub arc welding in the flat position.

    If I wanna get certified in other stuff, either I have to go get a job somewhere and pass their certification test or goto a weld certification test place and pay a CWI to test and certify me.

    Which one day Ima go take a 6G test with 7018 which will certify me for all positions and all stick electrodes(for the most part)

    Just gotta save up the $600-$800 to pay to take the test.
