This doesn't help, but was getting some last minute Thanxgiving day items for wife, had a newish Tundra, '14+ facelift version, MGM looking color, or in between that and silver, TRD-Off Road on bedside (chrome rear bumper) facing me at a stop light.

Guy had the Tundra version of the Pro grille on his truck. I'm certain it wasn't a Pro, as I believe the Tundra Pro is only available in same colors as the Taco Pro. Either way guy must have had a connection at Toyota, or the Tundra "Pro" grille isn't as high on the sought after rankings as the coveted Taco one.

^To get the truck to look like a TRD Pro doesn't require those.

I bet we're going to see a lot more of those grills on SR5's and standard TRD's straight off the showroom floor in the near future.

I'm not a fan of the grill but everything else (that is functional) is solid:D

Found out some more info today from a dealer...

According to them, should a damaged TRD Pro need a new grill, they order a regular grill from any old Tacoma in the color they need. Then, they order the TRD Part # for the $500 pro grill insert. At the dealership, they then switch the inserts.

So the bodyshop part with different part number some have been mentioning as sold in the $200 range is different ('53100-04481-B1' bold part is the color code I think). That's a regular grill. I had them order one which confirmed it. In their system, it says TRD PRO in the part description, but it's not a complete Pro grill. In order to have that, you have to also buy the insert and do the swap.

so how much did you end up paying for the insert? I might do that and then get my grill color matched

there are some dealers selling them, and other dealers are not.

they are held together with about 15-20 plastic clip tabs that lock into place on each other and about 8-10 torx screws. there is a video, i think homer tacos 2012+ ghost grill install, has a clear view of how the two separate. Separating them apart takes care and fiddling. putting them back together is a snap

one more thing. there is a rubber seal thats on top of the grill insert that seals the hood to the grill surround. this strip needs to be removed and transferred to the inner grill.

Thanks for the pics. That front end looks sharp! I'm not against swapping centers, I plan on doing that, but that part is $500 which is more than I honestly am willing to fork out. I posted to include some additional info in response to others which were saying they could order them for around $200 complete. Not trying to start any drama, just sharing what I learned.

There is another thread where a member says he can buy them for $200ish but was not wanting to get them for other members. Not sure it is even possible but we will probably never know.

Looking good!! I like the 4runner Pro wheels too! If I had a Sport I'd go the same way.

$500 is crazy. According to the parts department at my local dealership, list price on that part is ~$250. So if you have a wholesale account with the parts department at your dealership and they aren't a bunch of assholes, that makes the grille obtainable at about $200 after the 20% wholesale discount. I'm going to try and order mine tomorrow if my work schedule permits. I'll validate whether or not what the parts department told me is true once I have the grille in hand.

Let me know if that works out and what part number they're going by. Hopefully they're not thrown off like my dealer was and when the order comes in it's just a standard grill.

I don't why the MSRP is 300ish for the tundra Pro grill but 499 for the taco...

Haven't really seen a new tundras grill up close, are they smaller/less complicated?

The Tundra Pro Grill is a two piece unit. I believe it's well over 500.00
