How bad is seeing out of the rear view mirror with the tent on? Is it hard to drive/see other cars in blind spots etc.

Well I could see nothing out the back when I had the tent on top AND spare suspended from bottom of rack. But I am hopeful with the spare on swingout I will actually be able to see something :)

Hey John. Do you think I would have issues mounting a softopper with my drop in bedliner?

Yeah, duck hunting. First time so we'll see what happens. There are probably 100+ cars here already, we are in the first 50. Should get decent pick of ground.

Had to turn around... No ducks. Apparently we needed to buy a special pass for the reserve... Super bummed. But always stoked to spend a night in the tepui. My buddy brian is sold on it now, so is his wife haha. He will mount on his xj and Subaru Forester depending on mpg needs...

Ok so I put a head unit in finally. Sounded great after some eq adjustments. Need to work on the sub thing... Prolly going with a small mono block amp and 10" shallow mount. Going to put in box enclosure until I can buy the behind seat custom cut box.

Been playing around with GIMP again, trying to learn more photo editing tricks. Anyways, I was messing with an image from the Christmas Tree run we did this past year (same spot as my sig pic) and figured I'd throw up some truck pron. Makes me wish I had a better camera... this year for sure. If anyone has some budget friendly camera suggestions, that would be sweet.

Ok so I'm thinking for real I am going to sell the softopper. In its place, I'm going to build a sealed bed storage system for dry/secured storage. I'm mainly thinking firearms as far as security goes... This rhread gave some good ideas: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/9034-Post-up-your-drawer-storage-system

One of my buddies built a platform for his Subaru Forester and it looked pretty simple and came out good. Since mine will be outside in the elements I'll have to seal better, but that shouldn't be too tough. I'm thinking caulk for the seams, truck bed liner, and maybe some outdoor carpet for the top and sides would do well. Not sure about around the drawers though.... I guess some weather stripping around the inside would work?
