    I was going to suggest you could cut a slot out of the drywall slightly lower than the top of the base and drill through the studs at the bottoms in the centre of the stud , run the wire and install the base , but doesn't look tall enough to pull that off

    What's on the other side of the wall ?

    Is there an open basement under the wall? If there is you can drill a hole from the basement inside the wall and run the wire up to the switch location.

    There is two protection plates on the sole plate of the wall so either wiring or plumbing or both is going down to the basement shouldn't be too hard to figure out

    I can understand not wanting to try to match the textured surface but unless going up from the basement is feasible this is pretty much the answer
