I know when I was looking for tires it wasn't that often that the tire was the actual size the company claimed it to be or the size a calculator said it would be...

I wanted to try and get a list of tires with "actual" mounted on truck real world measurements.
Although I don't believe its that big of deal, I think a lot of people are curious what they will actually be getting. As the OP grows, I will be adding tires and different tires sizes of that tire. Then you could compare each tire you're loosing sleep over trying to decide to buy before you spend the money. It will be interesting to see the differences between the same size tire in different brands.

So please list your tire brand and model, tire size and load range. Try to be as accurate as possible maybe using a level on the tire and with "road" driving PSI. Also these measurements should be taken while ON the truck :)
*(new tires or within a few thousand miles of new)
    *Please include your rim width*

The problem with this system is that not everybody's tires are brand new. For instance, a brand-new set of 265/75R16 GY Wrangler Duratrac C-loads will be 31.7 inches tall.
When they're half worn they'll only be 31.2 inches tall, since they'll have lost 1/4 inch of tread for the full diameter of the tire.

Not sure what you're trying to find out, is why I point this out.

Yeah, I suspect you would have gotten a lot of "well, my tires are 31.4 inches high, but I've had them on there for about 10,000 miles already, so they were probably 31.7 inches when they were new"

How do you like those Hankooks so far, Oz? How many miles have you put on them so far? Had them on the highway yet (and if so did you notice much for drift?)

They're OK , not super impressive in our wet coastal snow . IDK how many miles I would have to look back at my receipts , no highway drift that I noticed and I was on the highway last week quite a bit

Cooper S/T Maxx - 275/70/17 - brand new - 35 psi - 31.5" knob corner to knob corner. There's a bit of subjectivity with the tape measure having to bend around the bulge of the tire, and where to measure the exact corner of the tread, so maybe anywhere from 31.4 to 31.6.

Lay a level on the top of the tire and level it.. Then run a tape measure from the ground to the bottom of the level.

That's what you meant by using a level in the OP. That method also assumes level ground, and tire compression "where the rubber meets the road" will be factored in, which is fine, as long as everyone uses the same technique. It could prove to be a little inaccurate in my case, since I know my driveway is not exactly level, and we're getting snow, and it's butt cold out (high of 7F today.) But I can at least try it when I get home to see what the difference is.
