What ammo? What twist? What muzzle device? What can? How many rounds are fired before displaying issues?

Sure. Of course it depends on condition, inclusions and a visible serial.

Various ammo off the shelf used, whatever we could find. No change.

    1:7 twist

    AWC thundertrap (the titanium one)

One round. Might have got a few down the tube before noticing the problem, and total of 20 rounds or so various ammo through it to see if that was the problem. Didn't hurt the can. If you slide the .30 cal bore check rod dealio in there with the can on it is perfectly aligned all the way through. Turbulance? I dunno. I think he already sold the upper, and neither one of us really wanted to put a can through the abuse required to "fix" whatever the problem was.

There's your problem. When it comes to suppressors, stick with the known & proven names. You're married to it for life so going with a fly-by-night company isn't a wise move. I wouldn't own an AWC suppressor but that's just me.

I have used and will be purchasing supressors made by a small local company to me. They are just as quiet and work just as well as any of the big companies, in some cases their cans are more quiet than the big companies. The big companies are not always best

I didn't say that the big companies were always the best but the ones that have been around will be around. Stability is what you want when you buy something like a suppressor for service and what not down the road. Otherwise you might have something you invested over a thousand dollars in that's now a paperweight. Your money and you're welcome to do whatever you want with it but I would stress the fact that a suppressor w/o support after the sale is a HORRIBLE way to spend it.

Yeah, I know. If I say anything it's hilarious because so much of what I say is met with staunch opposition just because I'm the one who said it. Fine. Don't take my word or experience for it. Google 'AWC Baffle Strike' and see how common it is. Based on the low # of cans they sell that's a rather striking percentage.

Sometimes I wonder why I still post to a truck forum about firearms where all the experts seem to hang out since my decades of knowledge & experience pale in comparison.

Not true at all. There's all sorts of shit that I don't like personally that I don't comment on. It's not all about what I like or don't like and I realize that but others don't seem to. Rather than see that I have concrete reasons for my statements they just see it as hating. Someone posts about an issue and when they post something that I see as most likely being the problem am I just supposed to blow them off for fear they won't like the answer? I didn't see anyone else trying to help him with his problem but I try to help someone out and now I'm the bad guy. Okay. Whatever.

Think I'm going to go with the 20...since it'll be a winter carry/camping gun, so concealment is not an issue. MOR POWA
