What the actual fuck? I'm the wimp on this thread and even I lift more than 50. As for the tattoo, I'm not the least bit religious and don't get the issue here

I mean I usually stick to 65s for bench (I dont do more than that due to a heart condition otherwise I'd stick to my old 215..) but still.. 50s is like 15-20 reps per set to get a workout in.

And right? I'm not even that religious but regardless, I couldnt give 2 shits what someone has a tattoo of.. I dont go to the gym to stare at other people, I go to get my shit done and leave.

haha, exactly. I may get kicked out by the fashion police one day. I go wearing a pair of mesh shorts that have dried paint on them and a wrinkled tv shirt with grass stains on it.

That's Planet Fitness for ya. They claim to be a judgement-free zone, but if you are capable of lifting heavy weight, you're automatically stereotyped as being a meat head. I hate Planet Fitness more than I hate GNC and almost as much as I hate Crossfit. I'd lose all my gains before I signed up there.

We used to have a guy that would come in and ask everyone to pray before he started lifting…of course, it made a lot of people uncomfortable and they complained, but he ended up moving anyway, so we didn't have to tell him to stop. I'm all for freedom of speech, but I don't like when people push their shit down your throat.

I only use GNC because its really cheap for me. I would use bodybuilding.com but I actually get the things I want cheaper at GNC (military discount, member discount, sales, etc)

But yeah Planet Fitness sucks.. I'm not a huge guy but I try to push my limits and if I grunt just a little they get mad.. Like I'm sorry, its just a natural body reaction

The two reasons I hate GNC are:

    1. the employees are usually morbidly obese or anorexic and, in either case, 9 times out of 10, they don't know what they're talking about.

    2. I've always had a problem with the way they deal with their membership program. You have to pay to join in order to get the discounts. I can go on bodybuilding.com and get the same product for like $2 more without paying for a membership. At places like CVS, I have discount card, but it doesn't cost money; that's just incentive for me to shop there, opposed to them making me pay to be loyal, in order to get discounts. At GNC, you've got to pay to get the discount. Also, the non-member prices are marked up 30-40%. Of course, the few times I've bought my ON from there, as a non-member, I've never been stupid enough to pay their suggested retail price. I just tell them that I know what the shit costs at other places and that I simply forgot to put in my bb.com order. 100% of the time, I get the member price. There's no way in hell I'd pay $90 for a tub of protein.

That being said, with your military discount, you probably get a negligible amount knocked off that you completely deserve...at least the fuckers at GNC give respect where it's due :oldglory:

I've always been a bb.com fan simply because of how they never sell anything without every staff member knowing what the fuck it is. They have supplement companies come in and brief them on every new product. Every person I've ever met that has worked for bb actually gives a damn about lifting.

I agree with both comments however for some reason I havent paid the last 3 times I've gotten a card :notsure: Maybe I just happen to always get it renewed when they have a free membership deal going on? Or my cashiers are just idiots. I also never talk to them haha. I walk in pickup my shit and check out. Then when they try to sell me the 20 other things that will "help me get in shape" I just say.. right... thanks but just this lol

That's nice to know about bb.com though. I know GNC they usually know less than what the packaging tells you, which is why I dont talk to them

All this PF talk has me really wanting to go to one just to be a douche bag. And wear my "Sex, Weights, and Protein Shakes" shirt. And grunt like a porn star.

haha x2. I only go for my ON Gold when I forget to order it, but, whenever they ring me up they're like, "That'll be $93" and I'm just like, "haha, no it won't" and, after a little explaining, I get it for the retail price. They know exactly what they're doing and it probably works on a lot of people...hey, they're in the business of making money and I understand that! They're just not gonna make it off me. In every experience I've ever had with them, simply calling them out will make them bring their price down to something more reasonable. If I were you, I'd go in without saying anything about your membership card, complain when your price rings up incredibly high, and see what they do.

EDIT: regarding BB.com, they're still gonna try to car-salesman you into some shit, but at least they know what they're talking about. As long as you call them out and have some knowledge on what you want, they'll reason with you and stop trying to be a savvy salesman.

    Today I paid $140 for

90 days of GNC AMP Wheybolic Extreme 60 Protein
90 days of CLK (probably does nothing but even if its psychological I'll take it)
    90 days of vitamins
4 packs of quest chips (wanted to give them a try)
    2 shakers

To me that was pretty cheap considering "retail" price was over $230

Maybe I paid too much but I was happy with what I got

No, that's a hell of a deal. I just wanna see if they'd honor it without you being a member and you simply complaining about the price...with what you ordered, it'd probably be around $300-$400. If you don't mind me asking, what's your military discount?

Off topic: I've only got 2 more weeks working at my gym and I get to put one more order in to our wholesale company before I leave, so if anyone wants anything, let me know! I usually get stuff $5-$10 cheaper than bb.com....I usually only order ON whey for myself and I get it for $52, so if anyone wants anything, let me know by the end of the week. I'm fairly certain my boss is gonna let me keep ordering shit after I leave, but I don't know for sure, so I'm about to order about 3-4 tubs of ON just in case lol

Honestly have no idea. I think around an additional 10%. Sometimes they do 20 for military appreciation so maybe they did that because of Christmas. I also got an additional $20 off because of the things I bought so with everything stacked together I save a good deal of money.

And oops. It was almost $170, just checked the receipt. Still happy with that price.

Nothing wrong with that, at all. Whenever I sign someone up at the gym, I usually give them 30-40% off if they're military.

GNC does a lot of great bundle deals...I may just be biased simply because the GNC I go to is filled with a bunch of mouth-breathers
