Hi Rob off christmas night and that's it until after the new year. How About you, anytime off for the holidays?

 

Thanks man. I'd be working tomorrow night if I didn't take leave. Then I'm off Christimas night and the following night (President gave us an extra day). I try to avoid working holidays if I can ... did enough of them when I was on active duty.

 

Lots ... my normal days off synch'd with the holidays very nicely. Basically this is one of 4 shifts I work from now thru 6 Jan. My sched is like "1 on 3 off, 1 on 2 off, 1 on 2 off, 1 on 3 off." Only 2 of the days off are leave.

 

some guys have all the luck lol Is everyone done with their Christmas shopping ?

 

Just checking in. Actually working the day shift for a couple weeks. Consider me a temporary lurker.

One hour from finishing my six nights in a row... then off through 1/5 when I come back on nights. I will be passing through your neck of the woods the day after Christmas on my way to Greensboro.

Howdy. Thanks for the service. Please don't freeze your huevos off in AK. I now feel guilty for complaining about working outside on out windy, 45 degree evening.... its better than 25 degrees and freezing fog.

 

Ready to be off work for 2 days! My Fold-a-cover is supposed to be delivered today and hopefully it isnt too difficult to put on by myself.. if weather permits.

It's been a very mild Winter so far. Not enough snow and no sub-zero temps yet (down here in South Central anyway). Don't feel guilty, a windy 45 degree night down there can have the same effect, it's all relative to what you're acclimated to.

 

I'll remain quiet about it being 60 and rainy here then... lol

 

Only two hours left this morning then eight tomorrow before being off until 4pm Sunday! I work a double to start my week out to get that extra night off. Have a nice xmas everyone.

 

You can keep your rain. I have a real aversion to it after 7 yrs stationed in the UK. In fact, I often tell people there were times in England that felt colder than a sub-zero day up here. Usually when it's that cold here, it's very dry (low humidity), and there really is a difference. Mid 30s and raining is about the worst, once you're wet and cold, it feels like your chilled to the bones.

 

This is true. I am literally right on the Gulf of Mexico, so a strong breeze on a cold night to me feels colder than say Colorado because of all the moisture.
