TPMS works.

My son and I set out this morning for his pre-school and at the end of my street I noticed mt TPMS light on.I pulled over and started checking pressures and when I got to the Passenger rear,I got a low reading on my gauge.The tire didn't appear soft but upon further inspection,I noticed the head of a roofing nail between the treads.Off to the local tire shop we went and twenty minutes and no charge later we were on our way.....They can be a pain in the ass sometimes but this is an example of the sensors doing thier job.

 

Do we only get a light? My last truck had an alarm that would scare the hell out of you.

 

No alarm for me Dave,just the light.

 

Its good to see that the TPMS worked for you when you needed it. When I switched out my stock wheels with some aftermarket wheels with no sensors, the light didn't come on for 2 days.

 

I understand that the sensors are incorporated in our vave stems,but can anyone explain to me how they actually work?
