Originally intended to trade the Taco for a new TRD Pro but when I saw this black Trail Edition, I just had to have it. The three frosty pics are after I put on the BORA 1.25" wheel spacers that used to be on the Taco... the only mod I could transfer! I've owned LOTS of Toyota trucks but this is my first-ever SUV.

I owned the Taco and sold it to the dealer then leased this Trail for three years after beating them up on the deal. End result is I have no payments for three years, some money in the bank and by the time I buy out the residual value, I'll have enough saved to pay cash for it. Owned in three years or less!

Planned for now is only a complete weathertech set of mats, Andres Devil Horns in the March batch and N-Fab Nerf steps. Later, Toytec Ultimate 3" lift with new UCAs and whatever size tire I can get in there without chopping.

If only you had the beadlock wheels. ;) The Trail wheels are quite nice! I'm considering derping them along with the front and rear bumper pieces to black out the whole thing.

Thanks! Get her out to test drive one. She'll love it!

I worked from home today and my wife took the T4R to work. And she's got a 2014 loaded Corolla....

I got a white TRD pro. I just happened to be shopping for the runner at the same time these became available so I went for it. I don't think it's all that much more than a regular trail but it came with black wheels which I was going buy anyway and the grill treatment was nice so why not. Suspension wise I'll find out soon enough if its enough or if I'll end up changing it out anyway.

The dealer here had the white Pro too, but I'm not a fan of the white (no offense!) vehicles. I like the Pro, could have ordered a black one but did not want to wait. There's quite a difference in the Pro over the trail. I think I'd liked to have gotten the KDSS suspension, extra lift, wheels and tires and the sun roof. In the end, it came down to the deal I was able to negotiate for this trail and the fact that they wanted my 2007 Tacoma BEFORE it hit 50k miles. I was at 49,450 miles. Yes, I put MANY more miles a year on my motorcycle than the vehicles. I average 6k a year on the cage and 18k a year on the bike. ;)

This is the new '13 bike. I had an '09 just like it but crashed, fixed and sold that one. Kid came down a one-way street the wrong way and I met him in a corner. Minor high-side and his insurance covered 100%.

Nice, good deal. Those SVs are great bikes! And so fun at the track! You have to give that a shot one day, best time on two wheels.
I have a garage full of bikes and my daily rider is my '09 Electra glide classic. I put about 10k a year on it. Los Angeles traffic can be murderous so the bike is my only way for sanity.

My tacoma was black and my car before that was black. I was just done with black cars. They're impossible to keep clean and scratches show up by just brushing up against the paint. I do love black cars though. This his my first white car ever and I have to say... I might never buy anything but white or silver cars from here on out... So much easier.

the reason I say the TRD and TE are not much different is because the way I was going to order my trail edition.
I actually had gone through the process of ordering a TEP without kdds without slidding tray but they were having a hard time telling me if they could order or find me one without sunroof (I plan on putting a full length frontrunner rack so a sunroof would only be a window to a rack... Plus I don't use sunroofs anyway) . During that lapse of time when I didn't hear back about sunroof the TRD Pros starts showing up and getting the trail premium just didn't make as much sense since the TRD was pretty much exactly what I was asking for. The suspension I was planning on getting about a 2" lift to fit slightly bigger tires and get better clearance so the 1" TRD lift was never a selling point for me. Still, I'm going to give it a run in southern Utah next month with this suspension and a full load and see how it goes, maybe it's all I need, I have a feeling there'll be too much sag with a full load and won't have enough clearance and good enough approach angles that low... It would be great if it was enough though, have an off road suspension under factory warranty ? Sweet..so I'll give it a shot first.
And I need tons of protection of course, that you need no matter what model you get.

This is my daily bike, one of my track toys and my usual rig I take out overlanding.... Another reason I'm going white truck this time. My discovery is dark green and the "off road" paint job on that truck is so heavy that it would be nice to come back from an outing and your paint not look like hell just from brushing against bushes.

And The disco I still have, that thing can out off-road this 4Runner without ever even using the lockers, amazing trucks and dirt dirt cheap.... And the easiest trucks to fix... Don't fool yourselves, every truck brakes shit out in real hard trails, you have To be able to fix them easy. Over complicated systems and gizmos only mean less chance you'll get out of it without help.

Nice looking 4Runner. I'm debating on whether or not to take off my floorboards right now. It looks great without them. What other mods besides wheel spacers have you done? Any plans for rear cargo storage?

Thanks! No other mods yet. The spacers put the wheels where I think they should be and made the cornering a bit more stable. BORA makes a great product.

The only other thing I've ordered is the Maxliner digital fit mats and cargo mat. Those will be here on Thursday.

Future plans are a quality lift with new UCAs and larger tires. I want to replace all the interior lamps with LED. Looking at the Shrockworks dimpled tread plate sliders. Really like the looks of those.

Once spring comes, I'm going to derp the bumpers black and maybe the wheels too, more to protect them than anything but I'd like to try out the all-black look!

Last, a new Andres front devil horn emblem.

FWIW, I put an OME lift on my 2010 4Runner and am running 285's. Alignment was fun with the caster just at the threshold. I'm running stock UCA's and haven't had an issue. I've also noticed that I didn't need a diff drop and I don't seem to have an issue with rubbing at full lock (non spacered wheels).

Warranty and price... Weathertech is 3 years and Maxliner is lifetime (limited to defects) Price was about 65% of the Weathertechs too.

I had Weathertech in the Tacoma DC (trying to sell that set) and have seen the Maxliners and like the fit and appearance better.
