Got set of 285s no rubs. Shop that installed them is a off road shop we put the truck tru it's paces everything turned out great. They are lil more narrow then most 285s so I think that's what's helping me out.

Interesting. Looks like they removed the front mud flaps. No trimming at all then huh?

Thats pretty cool but I think its cause of the wheels you have. I bet they have a different offset then the stock wheels so thats why you dont rub or hit your UCA's.

Will rub off-road unless the tires are really undersized.

I plan on off taking it off road for deer hunting and camping. But like I said we did alot in the shop and even lifted one side up couldn't get any rub. I think I'll be fine. Lock to lock no rub.

Thanks everyone. I am on the road now it's amazing how the much difference the tires make the truck handle.

What kind of tires are they? They look like Trail Grapplers.

    a "little undersized for 285's"

im sorry but 285 is a 285.... thats 285mm wide.... likely a 75% sidewall height on 16in rims.... theres no disputing math.

If they are infact 285/75R16's they will rub, if you actually flex the truck, no way around that.

First, different brands of 285s are indeed different actual sizes. BFG KM2s in 285/75/17 are 33.9in tall, the same size Nitto Trail Graps are 34.09in tall. Go check their respective websites. Sizes are "closest rounded standard".

Second, yes 285s of any brand are going to rub when the front tires are turned to lock and stuffed if there has been no trimming.

285's rub on stock wheels, but I recall someone having a set of the accessory TRD wheels that had just the right offset so they didn't rub.

Additionally, different tires will be difference sizes even if they are the "same size." There are plenty of instances of a performance tire being extra fat for its given size.

I have a friend who can run 305 tires but has to run 295 if he's running Michelin Pilot SuperSports cause PSS in 305 will rub. I currently run a 245 PSS on my G35 and it's wider than my old 255 Falken RT615's.

    Nothing noteworthy
Sub'd for more info and updates regarding performance off road. Got a Baja and would love to run 285's with no trimming, chopping etc.

I'm calling shenanigans - I thought my 255/85s didn't rub until I actually stuffed them into the fender - they definitely rub, and your 285s will also. They shouldn't rub on normal driving but I guarantee you if you take that truck off road it will rub them. Now my 255/85s don't rub MUCH even fully compressed.

If they rub it would have be doing something very rough. Trust me I am concerned but they put the truck tru it's paces we could get it to rub. It clears lock to lock I drove it in circles on a washed out road full lock nothing. He wasn't going to sell them if they was going rub. I am not the only baja with 285s in stock form.
