The top comment on that article says it perfectly:

"If your reading Consumer Reports to select a vehicle, then you should just buy a Camry. And please drive in the right lane and stay out of my way. Go with CR and buy a mobile appliance.

If your are looking for unbiased opinions, and from publications that actually know about cars, read MotorTrend or Road and Track.

Life's too short to drive boring cars."

I've had plenty of unreliable cars before that I knew were unreliable before I bought them because I consider myself an enthusiast.
The Tacoma's reliability is not the main reason for making my purchase

Not necessarily unbiased in my opinion but more enthusiast oriented for sure.

I'm not a bit surprised. Frontier looks alright but has poorer MPG. Ummmm...,I'm not a fan of the oogly shape of the Ridgeline. I wouldn't throw a penny at such an oogly looking thing comfortable or not. Not much options out there for reliable midsize trucks.

F**k Consumer Reports.. they are far left liberals assholes and they are getting paid to make crappy reports. I never use their rating on anything because the reports are narrow minded bais.

Poor in the sense that it doesn't get good mpgs by today's standard but its great motor.

I paid $32,500 for a loaded to the gills TRD Sport DCSB 4x4.

I don't think that is expensive.

Change them. I'm sure there are aftermarket seats you'll find more comfortable.

I had katzkin leather installed. Look, more than comfort, but I find them comfortable enough... but I am close to my ideal weight.

This is exactly why they can't make actual trucks(ridgeline) anymore cause idiots who use it solely has a van to haul his kids around complains that its too "noisy" so we lose performance or have to pay more for the truck to be more quiet.

*but clumsy handling makes it a chore to drive long distances*. They must not live some where you have to drive to get any where. I have no problems with it's comfort or handling many of my trips are in excess of 500 miles seldom a week goes by that I don't do at least one 100 mile trip.

The Honda Ridgeline is not even a truck. Its more of a el camino or ranchero. Anyone who wants a real truck is not going to consider the Honda. A magazine that lumps the ridgeline into the same category as the Taco doesn't have much credibility.

Can't let these reports get to you. Sure some people will read this and won't know any better, but there is a reason Tacomas dominate the market for mid size truck even without an actual redesign for so long.

Everyone who has a Tacoma knows its a reliable beast despite its faults and short comings.

    Damn...

Apparently my '13 has terrible body integrity, was fine on the '12s and is back to fine on the '14. What did they do to my truck in '13?
