My portable fridge has stopped working, haven't used it in over a year. Plug it in to the wall, turn it on and the green light comes on like its working. Wait an hour and there isn't a hint of "coolness" inside but I can feel a little heat coming out by the motor. Anyone know what it could be? Or do they really take that long to cool down?

Well, they don't offer the shocks with the leafs, but yeah AP is a reseller for Fox, Walker Evans, and Bilsteins. I would not assume by any means that they are specifically engineered for AP leaf setups - I'd assume it's just generalized product.

I'm considering moving up a level from OME. They were good, but when I installed them I had a more conservative view of what types of trails I would drive. I definitely could benefit from a set of ICON or Kings.

Measure with the shock out and the truck sitting unloaded. This is the time you take the 'at rest' measurement. The reason for doing this is that you want the shock to be neutral at this time, and help keep the leaf unloaded. Additionally, you don't want the shock to be preloaded and carrying the weight all the time.

Same was told to me for my OME. I'm discovering it's a generalized statement

I don't have the AP Expos but I'm pretty sure my homemade Old Man Doug leafs give me about 4" of lift and I'm running those 5100's designed for the RCD lift. They seem to work perfect.. I do admit I never did any measuring but hey, they're still working.

Hmm... you have a good point there. It sucks though, they offer a special pricing kit with bumpstops, u bolt flip, and brake lines but you have to buy shocks through them.

I know that bilstein makes quality shocks so that's why I wanted to upgrade but stay with them. I know I don't need resis, but honestly I just kinda want them  . I'm gonna be running resis up front with LT so I thought it'd be nice to match in the rear.

    Ahh I see okay.
Yeah I get what you're saying... I would figure out all this info myself but I don't want to run expos on 2" lift bilstein shocks while I'm waiting on new ones. I'd much rather install everything at once and be done. It sucks All Poo doesn't have the info on their site.

Well, that's because the numbers would only work for an unloaded truck, and you would need the numbers per each bed length and cab configuration. Once the user adds a camper or a bumper (like me), those numbers start changing again.

True but the fully extended/compressed numbers wouldn't change...

True enough for that, but I haven't seen anyone post numbers, so it's not like they are being any lazier than the next guy... which is part of doing business. You only have to be slightly more productive than your competition, lol.

Guess what I should do is buy the springs, then install and take my own measurements, then order shocks?
In your opinion should I take my vehicle out of commission until I have shocks or can I just drive it on the road and not like a crazy person? ;)

Would any of you be interested in buying a set of Goodyear Duratracs in 265/75/16? They have about 7k miles on them.

Next week is cab mount chop and new 285's for me.

lol I would guess driving without shocks isn't the safest idea. It would probably ride like a Model T.

    My thoughts would be:
    1. Buy springs
    2. Install springs, get measurements
    3. If you aren't very close to maxing out the old shocks, put the old shocks back in, otherwise revert to old setup completely. Chances are that normal street driving isn't going to have you pushing the shocks to one extreme or the other, but if the difference is way too much, use your old setup
    4. Order new shocks
    5. Put in all the new stuff.

Hahaha I meant driving on my current bilsteins, not just with springs that'd be insane

Ok but yeah that plan is basically what I was thinking... sigh ok here we go

Got a lot of stuff for the backwoods; tool kit, ExOfficio gear, wool blanket from Das Mule, and this really cool thing that will jump start my truck. About the size of a brick, on one charge it will do 20 jump starts then I recharge it. And a 0 degree sleeping bag :D

    Merry Christmas all!

Yessir! Just have to recharge it every 4 months or so which takes about 15 minutes plugged into my computer. Also can charge anything with a usb plug or regular plugs.
