That genuinely made me LOL. Never would have guessed that's a respectable quality on the interwebs.

    Well played Jace...well played.

    Thank you sir.
Did it a couple years back when I bent the rear axle to shit. After exploding one wheel into 4 pieces 15 miles from the nearest pave road and running on my only spare...that sealed it for me. Figured better to be safe than sorry. And it helps balance the front/rear weight bias a lot better.

    Merry Christmas!

What made you choose that 50T pack over a Deaver F67? I ask because I'm running the F67s and I don't have a lot of up travel with them. Was thinking about the e30 or 50T pack.

    Feliz Navidad!

I had F67's originally. And after those clapped out in a couple years, I got another set...and sold them a month later for the exact reason you pointed out. Lack of uptravel. They just don't handle weight, especially for my pig.

My 50T served me very well, but for barely over a year, and I don't race. I lost almost 3" of ride height from originally installation till I rebuilt them and added another leaf (right after the main leaf) last summer. If I would do it all over again, I would do a custom Deaver pack based on the old H70 (very similar to the E30). Same overall spring length as the F67, 50T, E30, etc, but with wicked arch like a new 50T pack. And from what I've seen/researched, hold that arch much longer/better.

Having owned both F67's and the 50T, the fit and finish of the Deavers FAR exceeds the 50T...and doesn't have a "Made in India" sticker on it. The chamfering, the retaining bolts/sleeves, the sliding pucks...all were far better quality with the F67s. I will say tho....the reality is, I don't have a lot of ground to complain too much. I beat the shit out of the 50T pack as a weekend warrior and it served me fairly well. But for basically the same price, I'd rather have the Deaver support and built to suit my needs, not a universal need.

    "Link Killers" are just shocks.
It's a custom shock Geoff had built specifically for his kit...which is just F67's with his shackles and TC front hangers. Nothing extraordinary with the leafs themselves. Just off the shelf F67's

Ahh thought somethings were different with the giant kit than how some set it up

Only difference is if you have Giant do the install for you! I bought my truck with Giant's "work" done on the truck. Too drunk to search at the moment, but read through my thread and you'll see a laundry list of fuck-ups from the ultra professionals at Giant Motorsports.

This is the best "like for like" I have.
First picture is brand new set of F67's on maiden off-road voyage (with single spare).
Second/third picture is brand new 50T on maiden off-road voyage (with two spares). No other difference in spring/shackle/pivot placement. Just a different spring.

The uptravel difference is significant...even when judging from a photo.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to stick with Deaver after your feedback as well as others who have echoed your opinion.

Do you think Deaver can use my F67s as a base to build a higher arch pack or should I just sell these and buy a new custom built pack from Deaver?

Probably best to start fresh. You can re-arch the F67's to get more up out of them, but the arch won't last long (6 months tops), especially if you are beating on it. Obviously depends on a number of factors including at what point you set the pack to bump at (negative arch, vs neutral, vs positive arch). I bumped mine so the main leaf was damn near dead nuts flat at full bump...if anything barely negative (see below).

The E30/H70 has a slightly thicker leaf on the upper leafs with some significant arch to handle weight.

It prevents coil bind (when coils max out and touch eachother). With my old springs, according to my calipers, I was hitting coil bind right and bump almost the same time. And yes, as you stated, less preload on the collar. Makes the rebound more predictable (for me at least). YRMV but that's why I got longer springs.

Springs are springs. Doesn't matter if it's Eibach on SAWs. You may need to measure your saw's tho to see if you can squeeze in an 18" as they are short bodies.

I just realized your running a flat lower collar now right? How does it clear the cv?

Also has me worried since my lower collars are cones.

Clears just fine. We have first gens remember

It is a little tricky on placement tho. The plate has to be positioned a certain way so the brake banjo bolt goes into the gap at full lock so it doesn't contact it.
