Lol only now you realize? You know of any deals on a nice looking car or smaller truck? Under 5k. Pahoa is killing my gas and mileage

 

bwaahahah, when I originally bought my truck it was to drive to work. its taken me a lot of places but I've had 2 or 3 other things to drive. I've used it to go to work and thru the years I've neglected parts of it and it caught up. so now, ill just throw a bunch of money at it, fix things, do things how I want…and still drive it to work or if I need to do other things with. I fixed my old toyota and been taking it places, ill tell you this…I miss having 4wd and something I can hop in and drive across island.

I haven't been hanging around with the honda crowd, but if you can find a 01-05 civic 5spd…those are awesome and won't get jacked. they're reasonably priced now, but yeah, I don't know any good deals on newer cars/truck.

 

Looking at a decent price 2000 4Runner but 2wd. I don't mind that though. That lexus I looked at was alright, but it was sold to a guy on Maui. Never really rode in a slammed car so the ride was rough for me. But not sure if that was normal. Also thinking more towards the runner since after the flow crosses the highway my way to work will be a gravel road everyday

how bout a 1st gen crv, those are fun and getting popular to modify. Ive been seeing lifted and dropped ones.

If you're looking to save gas, I wouldn't go with a 4runner…but then you could go super low.

 

Yeah the black one. I saw the silver one too. But then the guy says oil leak and AC. He said it's the valve cover gasket and compressor. Not too bad.
And the whole thing is to save gas but also because I don't want to be driving so many miles on my truck and gravel roads in my truck is not going to make me happy haha.

 

I know that guy. He has the oem gunmetal chrome SR headlights. He bought jus the center trd pro part for his grill. One of my friends can get me that part because its listed as an accessory but itll cost around $500 for it

 

I wanna go play in the snow. anyone wanna drive to the top of mauna loa?

 

Never been up there. Im down. Hopefully theres choke snow by this weekend.

 

so far road is closed. if we have rain should be good, doesn't look like much on the cams.


I've got 5 days off, so I'm gonna be wrenching, sleeping and adventuring. planning to go up on all the mountains, thinking of driving around skyline too. I haven't been to the top of mauna loa since I was a baby when my dad took a stock 4runner so thats been on my list for the past 5 or 6 years. we tried last year, but I wasn't driving. I know I got pretty far in the diesel back in 08/09 where a lifted tundra on boggers couldn't make it as far.

don't mind the pics, I'm feeling the snow wheeling and I've been calling the mk weather station every half hour waiting for an update.

 

Wanna go up badly. Never got to drive up when there was snow. Only caught a ride before I got my other tacoma

 

2 d year in a row we miss the snow. Last year it snowed the weekend after we left. This year it snows the day after we leave.

My gf said we not goin back there cuz I only bitch about driving. But hell if I get to finally play in some real snow ill drive all day. Who knows we just might come back next year.

 

hahah, I remember getting into Oahu too late to get a flight back to big island, so we stayed the night in oahu. walked places then borrowed a friends parents car. In less than couple hours I was like…we drove the whole island!? waikiki, diamond head to sandys around waimanalo side down into kailua and around to kaneohe, to kualoa to the airfield out waialua side and back over the hill to the city lights. Yeah, I can drive for hours on this island and find somewhere I haven't been to a long time. The only thing I don't like about driving is slow people and traffic.

Its hard to even plan something cause the snow never lets us know when its coming. We had snow in october this year. We tend to have snow in january, feburuary and in march too.

Thinking about getting my retrofits done. Want to get these aftermarket housings for the clear corner reflector:

Then put them into my oem housings.

But anyway would anyone be interested in buying the aftermarket housings but with an amber reflector? When I'm done I will be selling them. Will only use them for a little while if needed while doing the retrofits.

 

Went up to Mauna Loa today since mauna kea was closed all day according to their snow condition update that never changed all day either. Had a blast going to the summit.

 

sweet!! I'm headed there in the morning.
