    There is a complaint about the 6 spd of course from the slush box guys about the higher revs in 6th and sucking up fuel but they did not look at the figures for mileage because it's the same as the auto on the highway. The auto wins by 1 MPG on combined mileage but I can tow with the 6 spd in 6th at highway speeds.

    I also think MTs are easier on brakes, at least for my driving style. I tend to let the engine slow down the truck as I come up on a light. With my wife's minivan and AT, it tends to coast more, causing more brake usage.

    Even more so off-road. In 4-LO, I rarely need to use the clutch or brakes.

    Interesting that it is lower than mine for the same speed.

    I saw a 15% improvement in MPG when I drained the factory tranny and diff lube, and put in Redline GL4 in the tranny, and Amsoil in the diff (both synthetic).

    I can get 28 mpg with my 4-cyl if I really take it easy on the hwy, up from 24 with the factory lube.
