Yes the fill plates fill the whole slider. Weld and bolt installed have thier pros and cons I prefer weld on my self.

(Drawn Over Mandrel). DOM Steel Tube is produced using uniformly high quality C1020 steel strip and is formed and electric resistance welded into its basic shape. After annealing to produce a uniform grain structure throughout, the tube is then cold drawn over a mandrel to give it these advantages: uniform concentricity around the central axis, better ovality, closer tolerances, denser surface, uniform wall thickness, and higher physical properties. The cold working process works the weld area to produce a sound, dense, and homogeneous structure comparable to that of the base metal. The weld line disappears, causing DOM tube to be virtually seamless. The surface is superior to that of regular seamless tubing, since the material has been cold drawn from strip steel. The hole is straight and concentric with the outside diameter. DOM Steel Tube may be machined, formed, welded, carburized, and subjected to other fabricating techniques that are ordinarily applied to low carbon steel. The use of DOM Steel Tube gives you a guaranteed micro-inch surface and lower productions costs by reducing or eliminating such operations as boring, honing, and finishing.

What do these look like with the fill plates? Didn't see any in the original post and don't feel like sorting through 96 pages to find one picture, thanks!

I just want to throw this out there -
A few weeks ago I finally got to bash on my sliders in Moab. They held up great as expected and it felt good to finally "use" my sliders for their intended purpose. I suppose a little bit of that has to do with the quality job my buddy did welding them to my frame but still, these sliders are top quality! In addition to protecting my truck's body I am constantly using the kick out as a step while loading lumber on my roof rack. Seriously, I would have considered buying kick out sliders for just that purpose had I known how useful they are.
Thanks for a great product Jerry!

So I'm about to put my bolt on sliders on my 2011 Dbl cab. I still need to drill which is fine my question is. The washer goes on the frame slider plate side I assume but should I put on on the back on the frame side? Also is the bolt long enough? Grade 8 hardware I assume.

Are there any pictures of a slider/kickUP on a Tacoma? I really like the look of it but didn't see one mounted, I'm curious.

Do you have the kit? It comes with all hardware needed and instructions. It was fairly easy.

How much do you charge to weld a set onto a truck?

Getting excited about my sliders. I can't wait to have my truck protected from all the old people where I live who like to hit your vehicle in a parking lot (oh, and maybe off roading too).
