Texas Meet, September 26-27th, College Station

So you are "tenting" it then? not bringing the camper? I certainly don't want to be the only one there in a camper.. Wife is actually wanting to go Friday after work too, but it would be go, setup camp and get drunk... is that the general plan. I am guessing it will be close to dark before I get there.

 

Must be a setting on the website, I looked.. could not find it..? strange. My Computer is set right, will look more later.

im going to call the lake bryan camp site office today and see what we can do that way if we still want to go to a park to go on trails we still can but camping will be alot nicer with out mud everywhere

 

I am bringing my camper & a tent for back-up, just incase There is not a place to set the camper up near everyone else. I am not sure how the park is laid out, but I don't want to get stuck camping at the gate by myself.

Get there, set-up, get drunk is def. my plan.

 

For sure you are bringing the camper? is it a pop-up? Is there a place to dump the tanks nearby or on the way back to Houston?

 

I am def. going to bring my pop-up camper, It is kind of a peice if you know what I mean, I don't think that they have hook-ups @ BVORR so I will be bringing a few battery powered lights & hopefully it will be cool enough that I won't need the A/C. No clue about dumping tanks.

 

Anybody ever rent an RV Trailer???

I typically bail at 5PM, but my boss is trying to convince me to leave earlier. He wants me to get some down time after everything that has been going on.

 

I took the whole day off, but the wife doesn't get off till 5. So I'm thinking 6 would be the earliest we'd be ready to meet up and take off, unless she decides to bail on account of the weather.

 

BTW folks, I'm gonna bring a ton of firewood so we can combat the chill and the rain + keep ourselves entertained by burning things.

I think it's highly probable that we'll be looking for another location. I think we'll want something that has covered shelter. Lake Bryan?

 

TexasIslandboy & I are going to meet up this afternoon & go to Lake Bryan to see if we can get a group rate on camp sites & possiblly reserve an area.

about 350 a weekend is the average I have seen, and you can't rent it for just one day! What do you get? A fridge that runs on propane, Batteries to run the lights and a small pump for about 20 gallons of fresh water. Some of them have a bathroom and a working shower with hot water. When it is "nasty" outside, they can be really nice.. but.. dirt and junk can follow you in.
