Hey all, ive been wanting to lift my 2010 4x4 tacoma for a while now and i think i found the kit i want to use. After my research i like the bds 6" coil over suspension lift kit. What im looking for from yall is, is this a good lift for the money or is there another i should be considering? And im looking to run a 35x12.50 tire. So what gears would you run?? I will be using this mostly as my daily driver with the occasional trip to the mud. But itll mostly be on pavement. Any info that yall can share with me to build a solid truck will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

ARB lockers and 4.88s front and rear, OME 886s, Dakars, etc., Safari Snorkel, 17"Fuel Revolvers w/ 35x12.50r17 KM2s, fenders cut 3" all around, Pioneer AVH-P4400BH w/ Backup cam, CB/PA (PA Installed), Weathertech Digis, Foglight anytime, AP: front bumper, skids, and pack rack, custom sliders, Warn 9.5XP, dual VIAIR 480Cs with a 2.5gal tank, OTRATTW switches galore, URD y-pipe, RCI skids, LF 240s, etc.
Those tires are a bit small...but then again I have a thing for over-doing my tire sizes haha. I'd say go 35s and 4.56 or 4.88 gears. But that's just my .02

There are plenty of people running 35's w stock gears on here. Me personally I would just run 33's that way you will be fine w/o changing gears. Either way when choosing tires keep an eye on their weight as M/T's tend to be heavier than a good A/T tire.

I'm one of those people running stock gears on 35s. NOT WORTH IT. 4.88s are going in right now. I've put about 5,000 miles on with stock gears and 35s and driving is a bit rough. Highway driving sucks - if you want to cruise, your trans won't just "pick" a gear. It'll just keep hunting, even if you're doing the same speed. Do it once and do it right...regear when you up your tire size

    Just a few

This..... Running 35s as well on stock gears and its rough. My tranny has been put thru the paces without new gears. Go 4.56 or 4.88 as said above.

Do it right - skip the drop bracket lift!

you can get a VERY nice Mid travel set up for the same price and run 35's!

Thanks for all your replies. Sounds like 35s with 4.88 gears is the way to go. Is there any other mods that yall would do to your truck aside from the lift, gears and tires to improve ride and performance. Im sorry to show my inexperience but i really want to do this right and 1 time. Reason being was my first truck was a 97 blazer. Of course at 17 i lifted it myself slapped some big tires under it and drove. Was fine for a while but then everything started to break on my 50 mile round trip commute every day.

And for those of you who are running 35s with 4.88s. What kind of gas mileage are you getting now??
