i just installed those myself the other day. when i installed them i just connected them via the harness and they were not that loud. the factory tweeter splits the power to each speaker in the door, so you have to jump the wires before the tweeter to get full power to the three way. with my kenwood and the factory tweeter still playing i got roughly 11 watts to the rockford, but once i cut the tweeter out i have 22 going to each rockford.

So you just unplugged the tweeter? I guess you don't have a pic of how you did it I used the harness also.

Negative, he is saying you have to cut the wire before the tweeter, then connect a wire from that to your speaker. and then another wire to the tweeter. But he has an aftermarket radio. So that would give him more watts

Ok got it I'll mess with it tomorrow, I also read where I can just disconnect the tweeter and just have the speakers. Really don't need the tweeters since the speakers I got are 3 way but I guess amp like u said is always better

It would be louder than just using the head unit. Stock or aftermarket

ya if you just unplug the tweeter the speaker wont play at all. on the left door if i remember the colors for the factory harness were red and pink. where it plugs into the tweeter there are 4 wires, if you cut those and connect the reds together and then the pinks all the power will go to the speaker.

Interesting, i don't ever think i paid that much attention to those wires. I just cut them all and reconnect to aftermarket speakers and tweeters
