Just curious on what rubs with bigger tire's on the 05-11 models? I Have OME nitro sport struts and OME 887's but wasn't planning on installing till after the rear spring recall is dealt with. Going to to Discount Tire this coming Monday to see about getting new tires because my current tires cannot be balance and have now started thinking about getting 255/85r17 on the TSS wheels. I have a Pelfrey plate bumper on the front and was thinking, if its just the front bumper that rubs would I be ok for another month or so of just hwy driving, or will that size tire rub the frame mount with out a lift? Also I did do a search cause there are a lot of tire size questions but couldn't find one that relates to this.

You still might have to trim or push the caster forward

Is that something that can be done without bringing it to a alignment shop? Really wanted to wait till after I put the OME stuff on before I get an alignment so I don't have to pay twice

You might wanna ask in the 255/85/16 owners thread ( same size ) but I don't see you running those at stock height without serious trimming

The Cooper ST maxx in 255/80/17 is like an inch shorter than the km2 for some reason , TW member Teneighty just got them

By serious trimming do you mean copping the cab mount? Most of the trimming I've read about was on the front bumper but I don't have a factory front bumper. Thanks for info

A "lift" only increases your ride height by preloaded or stiffer spring rate etc. When the suspension compresses and goes to the bumpstop lift is mute. Only by limiting up travel will you stop rubbing.
I have been running 255/85/16s for years with no rubbing on my 06.
