I'm gonna go with the airflow snorkel because it's SC compatible, also from what I've seen of the safari snorkel it's really fat at the fender level for some reason.

Truck still has the OEM skid plate. The area between the bumper and the OEM skid is part of the ARB bumper. Feel free to PM me anytime and I will do my best to help. Always good to see another 2.7 build.

Appreciate the comments guys. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. I have enjoyed building this truck over the past year and I look forward to more in the new year.

What kind of of skid plate do you have underneath there? Nice truck by the way

Great thread as I have 2.7 2006 5 spd Prerunner. Your truck is what I would love to do to mine someday. I have 5100's on it a shell, speed shifter, and a skid plate up front. Nothing crazy but I do love the truck.

Just got a Leer shell and am looking forward to some good camping with my son and daughters. Where did you buy your Thule rack for the cap? Just curious as I cannot afford a new one.

    Let me know,

I purchased the Thule system new through my local leer dealer. It came slightly discounted since I ordered it on Black Friday. If your looking to save some money, I think using crossbars with artifical rain gutters and rain gutter attachments might be a slightly cheaper option. I believe there are threads on here detailing this as a sometimes cheaper option depending on parts currently available on your local craigslist. Only downside is they are not adjustable, but it's a more universal setup so you can take advantage of used parts on Craigslist. Hope that helps.

I bought a Yakima setup for my last car for half price of new through Craigslist, and sold it for the same amount 2 years later. Craigslist is your friend!

Hey man, how do you like your ARB bumper, does it feel pretty tough? I'm tryin' to decide between an ARB or maybe a Pelfrybuilt or Relentless Fab. What led you to choose the ARB with all the other offerings out there?

Very cool truck btw! Your build is inspiration for my own.

Man this build is inspiring me! I also have a 2.7l access can and was looking at doing the same suspension setup as you. Did u have any vibration issues after the lift? And if so how did u fix them?

Just an FYI Weldo, I have an arb bumper and winch on my truck and I love it. The main reason I wanted it was because of the airbag compatability, and it was a smokin good deal from my neighbor. Just my 2cents

Any reason you started with a RTT and changed to a shell? I ask because I have a shell and plan to switch to a RTT with an 8" rack, and you have me wondering if there is an inconvenience that I'm not seeing.

No issues with OME setup after install. No vibrations, everything aligned up fine. Dakar leafs started squeaking on and off when going over bumps during the winter, most likely due to colder temperatures.

Went with an ARB bumper mostly because I preferred its look the best. Also happen to get a great deal through a groupbuy. Groupbuy vendor also happened to be in raleigh, which saved on shipping cost and assisted with install.

Swapped out crossbars for an camper in order to have more dry storage and better security for things in the back. Pictured below, still use an RTT, just mount it on the Thule Rack.

Sorry for the late response to everyones questions, been away from the forum for a while. Unfortunately I sold my tacoma. Main reason being I needed a vehicle with more passenger capacity. Offroad capability still remained an important factor, therefore ended up purchasing a 2015 PRO4X Xterra with a 6 speed manual. Considered 4Runner, but in the end higher price and lack of a manual transmission resulted in choosing the Xterra. Nissan has always been a close second for me, seriously debated Frontier at the time of purchasing this Tacoma. R34 Skyline has always been my dream car as well. Anyways, This forum has been great during my time with tacoma, this build would have never been possible without the knowledge and help of tacomaworld. Hopefully this build build page can still help others, and I will continue to check back from time to time. However this isn't the end for toyota and I. Will be purchasing a 1980s 1st gen toyota pickup in the near future to use as a work truck etc. Now I got to figure out do I build up the Xterra? :D
