I received my kit the other day (Thanks Brad) I'm going to try to wait until it gets warmer outside to install it, so I will get the best possible chance for good adhesion.

Wondering if a thin bead of silicone would be an alternative. Would be easy to remove if needed.
    Thoughts?

Possibly but getting the silicone to hold initially would be time consuming

Maybe just a rubber adhesive ish, rubber glue. I think clear caulk would work well. Just hold with electrical tape strips until dry?

I don't think that will hold enough pressure.

I used clear silicone to adhere painted mesh into the cutouts in my steel bumper, and in order for the mesh to hold, I had to stack bricks on the pieces (at an angle, obviously) for it to hold enough pressure. And that's a 4x6 piece, not a 30 something inch strip

First I want to say a big thanks to Brad for putting these kits together. Great product and great communication. Had them by Christmas and installed today.

As for install I used grey double sided automotive tape on the back of the led strip and a hairdryer to warm the hood surface and the grey tape. Seems to have bonded well.

Think you messed up your quoting/reply, but I'm very glad this worked! The wiring was the perfect length on my 05 4R, and I was able to put the switch in a cool location.. :spy: I'll take a photo tomorrow morning.

As for adhesion, we shall see. Today was a mild 45-50 degrees, which felt warm. I was already grimy from replacing my alternator this morning, so I got this done too. I cleaned off 4 years of mud, clay, dust, and salt..... It was great lol. I need to clean my engine bay
