Gah! I don't think my "panning" shot turned out. I mean, I took it panning and the subject is frozen but the background is frozen as well...I'll take a look and post it maybe.

Midnight, your time zone. So like an hour and a half from now!

Here's my panning shot. My mom and I went out and helped do a Christmas Bird Count in Oceanside on Saturday. I tried to catch these Killdeer in-flight panning but it wasn't in the cards I guess... :(
Here's one running on the ground. They really tend to run more than fly for short distances, so the only way I could get them in the air was to run at them and then I had to quickly stop running and bring up the camera and it was too much to do. Ah well. Next time!

Winner is David (davidpick)! All really cool shots, and I'm partial to that WRX... But in the spirit of the holidays I had to give it to the train and presents.

Thanks! Had a lot of fun trying to get this shot. Spent a good 3 hours with my dad and brother setting it up and practicing the pan to get it right.

Sending Monte a pm on the new challenge now.

I've found a new hobby, quiet poetic, destroying something to make it beautiful. Reminds me of samurai.

Wow it is only Saturday and lots of great entries already!

Fun challenge, learned a lot once again on this one. Picture of my Christmas present to myself sitting on a chair facing into the Christmas tree. Manual settings including Flash set to 1/64 power pointing up with diffuser and reflector extended. Shot the lead woodcock and the Beretta Trident was a bonus "bird".
