hahaha, trust me, I wish I had more free time. I'd definitely rather be wheeling but wrenching can be just as fun too.

 

K, I know we discussed this many many posts ago. And I am planning on paying off my truck before doing any major mods. I was wondering however if Icons are worth their cost. I understand that they are coil overs up front but I had a buddy who had OME 3 inch lift for a long time on his dclb and they did really well until he snapped a shock beating on the truck. He upgraded to icons. I feel like the OME's did great and only broke because of a long life of getting beat on lol. He says when I am finally ready to upgrade to go straight to Icons. Not to waste money on a lesser lift, because it will cost more in the long run. I don't think I will beat on them like he did his though

 

Did you end up rebuilding them and change the uniballs?

 

I would look for some used coilovers. I managed to score icon from resi coilovers for $300 bucks. After a rebuild and replacing uniballs, you are still way under $500.

Yea it was me lol but the check engine light went away...so I'm just going to drive it till I gotta smog again next dec

How does that hurt it? What is the check engine light thrown for?

 

check engine light is to signify emissions problems (smog stuff). so if he's throwing a code, he won't be able to pass smog...and just because the check engine light isn't lit up, doesn't necessarily mean you're in the clear and there could still be small problems preventing passing smog.

Just waiting for Icon. They stopped doing rebuilds im December and will resume in January so ill get em done in a week or so then throw them on and see where im at
