I'm on info overload now, I've been reading through a bunch of the lift threads and I think it's time to get some input for my truck specifically.

2010 dclb 4wd. Pretty much bone stock, with stock size tires.
I just want to upgrade the ride/weight handling and get maybe 2-2.5 inches lift front and rear without having to upgrade uca's.
Front: bilstien 5100's or OME coil/shock combo?
Rear: wheeler hd 4 leaf pack or OME Dakar leaf pack? Which shocks?
I don't want to spend a ton of money on the lift, if I can get the ride/lift out of 5100's and a leaf pack then that's what I want to do. But there's so many options priced so close together I'm not sure how to choose.

My truck currently has almost 90k on it, I'd like to go ahead and replace the shocks and sagging (no tsb) rear leaf springs, and do a mild lift at the same time. I have no plans for armor beyond sliders and skids, keep a ~150lb toolbox in the bed, and will eventually get a softtopper as well. I tow and haul stuff in the bed semi regularly. I do no wheeling currently.

I'm planning to go to 265/75/16 tires next year, and I'd sort of like to be able to fit 255/85/16's at a later date.

Dont do anything over 2.5" up front if you dont want to get aftermarket UCA's. If you dont want to spend a lot of money they 5100's would be your best bet. I would just throw 1.5-2" AAL in the rear with new shocks as well.

My rear leaf springs are already sagging...from what I've read a 1.5-2 aal is just a bandaid fix that will end up sagging as well. True?

Yeah thats probably true so it would be a good idea to go with a whole new leaf pack especially if your sagging already.

the dakars will look good, there will not be too much front rake, as the dakars are designed to look good on a 3inch front lift.

I've heard full leaf packs offer a better (smoother) ride that AAL also.

Since I do tend to keep some tools in the bed and regularly haul weight in the bed as well, I think I'm decided on leaf pack versus aal.

I guess my big question is now can I install 5100's set at 2.5 in the front, and be done without springs? I guess if I didn't like the forward rake after that I could always remove one of the leaves in the rear after the fact.

Just get OME 885's and be done, i am saying this and chiming in because i thought that i'd be ok w/aal and bilsteins. There are two many people that stated bilsteins stiffen up at that high of a lift setting.

I suggest new coils with the dakars!!

I have 5100s at 1.75" up front with oem springs and my alignment is right on the lower end of the factory caster range. There was some slight unstableness on the freeway, but not unbearable. It was probably more due to the nasty grooves on the local freeways. Other than that it rides good to me although I haven't tried the 2.5" setting.

I think this summer I will be changing to an OME 88x lift spring with their nitrochargers up front or the upcoming Bilstein coilover kit and an aftermarket UCA. It's totally not needed, but I'm picky and I like new parts ;)

If I read it correctly the leaf packs will give you 2.5" of lift in the rear and even if you set the 5100's at it highest setting which is 2.5" your rear end will be about 1" higher then the front. Some people like this look though so it just depends on what you like. Normally no, people dont need aftermarket UCA's with just a 2.5" lift up front.

I understand there's always some back and forth and differing opinions about bilstiens set at 2.5.
Personally, I like a firm ride on a truck, my previous daily driver was an f250 and going from that to a Tacoma has been a little bit of an adjustment....my f250 was pretty harsh.
I also like some forward rake, and inch or so sounds great to me.
Since it sounds like I can get what I want height wise I think I'm going to go with the shocks and leaf pack, and pass on the coils for now.

Worst case, if my alignment can't be brought within spec, I'll drop the fronts to 1.75 and remove a rear leaf on each side so it doesn't look crazy. And then start saving for ucas and coils ;)

    Does this order look complete?

    OME Nitrocharger N182 rear shocks
    Bilstien 5100 front shocks
    OME Dakar leaf spring pack
    Bushing set
    U bolts
Carrier bearing drop kit (haven't researched extensively yet but I know some people install)

I thought it made more sense to install the nitrocharger shocks with the dakars...

Also it looks like wheelers has the best prices on the entire lot right now.
