Spare tire stolen

    Bak Flip bed cover, shorty antenna, Peripheral iPod interface, Garmin 750 mount, add'l bed tie down rings, Westin nerf bars, hitch safe, tailgate lock, Ideal 1 3/4" turn-key clamp to secure tailgate from removal, Spare tire security cable, spare tire stainless air hose extender, Fumoto oil drain valve, Amp Research Bed X-Tender w/Schlage Cable Lock, bed mat, Redline hood struts
    I have a cable lock on mine, but how do you protect it from someone cutting the cable?????

    My cable lock is really snug you can’t just pull it down and access it easily with a cutter. The one I got just happens to be exactly long enough to loop the tire twice without any extra play. Its also very thick, I think 15-20mm.

    The people who steal these things do it because its easy, any small deterrent would cause them to loose interest. There really isn’t any real reason to put a lot of effort in stealing some thing they’ll get under $100 for; it’s more of an opportunity crime then anything. If they really wanted to put some effort in to it they would probably take the other 4 tires off of the truck a long with anything else they can remove with basic tools.
