Thanks man! Yea they were installed 2 weeks ago. Here's a pic:

I still have to get a few more for the center but it's hard mounting them with full skids. I will have to see what I can come up with, but for now, they look great!

Also, toying around with the idea of some Relentless Fab bed bars to mount the RTT to and leave the roof rack free to mount the Thule ski racks, Maxtrax, Pelican style case for recovery gear and a 4 gal Rotopax gas can.

Nice Xmas gifts, love that RTT. Keep in mind mounting the tent over the bed at a height around even with the roof rack will help wind drag and mpgs.I don't plan on getting a RTT till I get a trailer, but that's how I'd mount.

That's why I plan on getting the bed bars especially for longer trips. Plus, I don't want to have to keep moving the Rotopax, Maxtrax and Pelican-like case between the bed and roof rack.

Btw, can't wait to see what you come up with the snorkel! :spy::popcorn:

Few updates, but nothing really exciting:

    RTT has been assembled!!

BUT, I came across a HUGE battle scar

I reached out to Lucas (cotrailruns; organizer of the GB) and the shipping company to start that process/ordeal to see what, if anything, can be done. Luckily it did not go through to the inside! I talked to Griffin at Tepui and Robert at CVT about how to proceed with repairing the puncture. They were very helpful and knowledgeable in assisting me with a home remedy but I think I might wait until I hear back from the shipping company or Lucas on what they plan to do before I go ahead with any repairs. Stay tuned for that!

I hope to be getting my Undead Offroad rock lights that I order this or next week so I can install them! Really excited for those!

I am still waiting for the Maxtrax mounting pins for my Maxtrax. The US vendor we placed the group buy through should have them this week so I hope to be getting them next week and mount them up!

I placed an order yesterday for a 42" Plano case that will mount to the Prinsu roof rack for my recovery gear. Here is an example of how it will look:

    bd0e0c5cb205156c8b8b2431facc6c55_dc50d11c764e8e8229c8ff89e3f9cba92254e67d.jpg

There is a delay on my Rotopax purchase/configuration because I still cannot make up my mind!! :help::angrygirl::annoyed:

Rotopax came out with their bed rail mounts so I am thinking of mounting it here:

I feel this will make fueling the gas can MUCH easier and not as messy. If I ever need to re-fuel from the gas can, I can use my siphon right to the gas tank without ever having to remove the can from the bed rail! The hi-lift jack will move to the passenger side bed rail.

I think I am set on the relentless bed rails for the RTT on longer trips i.e. Badlands, Michigan, U.P. but I want to do a shake down weekend with the RTT on the Prinsu rack first.

Also forgot to mention that my Plano case came in yesterday and this thing is beefy! I was worried about going with the Plano over the Pelican and was glad I did not spend that much for this case! I will likely just be keeping a shackle or two and one recovery strap and moving the rest of my recovery gear to the case and enjoy all the space I will be getting back! Still need to order some drop in t slot nuts. Stay tuned! :D

UPDATE: I heard back from Lucas today about filing a claim due to damages that occurred to my RTT. I am happy to say that I will be getting some money back! :D I still have to repair the damage, but I will likely be working on that this weekend.

Also, I should be receiving my mounting pins for the Maxtrax tomorrow! I will be working on attaching them to the roof rack this weekend as well! I have to see how I will actually be mounting them; the mounting bolts appear to be really long and I want it to be secure so no one walks off with them  Someone posted this in the Prinsu thread and would be a good alternative:

    roof%20rack.jpg%204_6a0ddfd1466abcf9dbbe911ea737a8113cb17ace.jpg

I placed an order for the cable locks Maxtrax recommends using for the pins. I likely won't have them this weekend but at least I can post some teasers.

Similarly, I will be working on the Plano case as well; getting it mounted to the cross bars as well as fitting the gear in there.

I also PMed Eric at Relentless fab inquiring about some custom bed bars I would like to order from him soon!

Lastly, if everything goes according to plan, I will have a surprise to announce at the end of the weekend! HINT: Mystery part(s) :anonymous:

Also, I received the new rock lights from apocalyptic lighting! They're REALLY bright. Home to re-use some of the old ones with the new ones to really light up the trails! Can't wait to get into the shop in the next couple weeks to get them wired up! :D

    More done today..

When I installed the compressor my buddy's shop only had teflon "caulk". So I used it thinking it would be ok. It was good, but it still leaked a little and I wasn't too sure how well/long it would last. So today, I took today to reseal the unit. This stuff is really messy and I am not sure if it's how it supposed to be or because of the cold, but it was really stuck in the threads. Exacto knife and a soft brass wire brush was my best friend

    Done!

Took about 30-45 minutes to get all the old teflon out. Never again; bad decision on my part to deem it acceptable. Live and learn though  Also, I will have to remove it again to grind the bracket and paint it. Have to wait for warmer weather first though :pout:

Next, I noticed the hood latch piece rubs on the back side of the satoshi mesh. Should take 10 seconds with a grinder and a cut off wheel. Will likely take care of it next weekend.

Finally relocated my hi lift to the passenger side of the bed. Happy to say that's where it will stay and now I can order my Rotopax spare gas can, bed rail mount and locks

Still trying to work on a way to get those surprise mystery parts..stay tuned!

Was able to get a few things done Saturday before Linus hit Saturday evening:

Chopped the hood latch piece that was rubbing on the Satoshi mesh. I don't have any pics of the after, but I just took an angle grinder with a cut off disc and cut a small piece off; just enough without chopping the whole thing. Here is a before and the red line shows where I cut:

Last week, I ordered some LED headlight bulbs from Mike at AVEC products. Here is my review/write-up on them:

Also received some new battery terminals after seeing them on Zscott's build page :spy:

They will be installed at a later date however. In the next week or so, I will be getting the switches for Iggy's second switch panel. Then, I will be getting it installed along with a few other things.

Didn't get nearly as much done as I had hoped with all the shoveling and snow we got but I had fun in the snow with the truck! :D Help out some family, friends and neighbors who were definitely grateful for the truck! I love this thing

Lastly, TITS in a little snow :anonymous: (Only about 12 hours after the storm started; lasted about another 24 hours after this pic was taken  )
