Yes! I've been around guns since I was very small..

I've never had one accident or misfire. Until yesterday. Didn't think it could happen to me. But it did & here I am. With a hole in my leg & laying on the couch. Lol

    I get what your saying.

I will talk to my parents about contacting the manufacturer first.

PeeRunner: I have no problem if Ivan sees the posts I have made on TW. I just don't feel it's necessary for you to try resolve a problem your not personally involved in. If you contacted him to make him aware of these posts, that is 100% fine. But we will contact him when we are ready to figure something out with the gun.

I will take your advise & try to contact Armscor first.

My parents are gone to a wedding rehearsal so it will be tomorrow at the earliest.

It actually isn't THAT bad.. I'm fine right now.

The wound channel is what hurts, not the entry or exit. It's just a deep soreness.

If you want, I could shoot you in the leg & we can have an open discussion about the pain! Lol

I actually reacted very well. I immediately unholstered the gun, took my shoe off, cut my pants from my thigh straight down to the ground the off (think daisy dukes on one side), laid down on the ground, elevated the leg, & put rags over the wounds and applied pressure.

My brother called 911 during this. The emt said I was the best GSW patient he's had and he's been doing it like 25 years lol.. I kept my heart rate below 100 bpm & chilled out in the back of the ambulance. Lol

It doesnt break apart, just mushrooms, it just lacks the energy to tear a monster hole at exit like a .45 would.

Edit: Wait we are talking about a .45 WTF did I just say? I was thinking we were talking about 9mm....derp

It happened yesterday around 3:00 PM. And you'd be surprised at how little it bled. Plus I had pressure on it within about 30 seconds..

Glad to hear that it was fairly minimal damage to you. What was the wound treatment at the hospital, if I may ask?

Not to sound like a dick, but that is a bit disappointing that it didnt mushroom. I would be contacting the manufacturer of the ammo and get compensation for faulty ammo as well

    for the pic

They performed x-rays & a ultrasound to see if I had hit anything major. I didn't so they gave me some antibiotics in an IV and a prescription for pain meds & more antibiotics.

I went back this morning to see the surgeon to see if it needed to be cleaned. He said there were no fragments or anything & that GSWs are pretty sterile because of the heat.. So he cleaned it again & told us to change the dressings once a day and it would heal itself.

Hahaha.. We've already had this discussion.. We'll probably be changing carry ammo lol.. But I don't wanna test the new on myself.

Not a shitload of unburnt powder from a discharged round maybe 6 inches away from the muzzle? I'd think a cleaning would be needed, if nothing else. That's interesting.

perhaps this can be your future! Testing ammo on yourself lol. You already know where to shoot to avoid major injury.

    That's what I said.

The bullet did graze my hip right below the barrel. Idk if that's muzzle flash or what, but there is a pretty good scrape.

If it was indeed the bullet then it passed through 3 layers of Denim before entering my leg.
