    This looks like a couple year old thread and keeps coming back wintertime:(.

    snow, ice, is going to be slippery. ABS or no-ABS.

    People swear ABS almost got them in a crash and others disagree.

    So what has toyota said about this or even the federal safety board(or what ever they call it).

    do we have enough confirmed deaths or accident to warrant a class action suit($$$)?

    or we are just board here doing Blah blah blah.

    agree that it causes pucker factor to go up on some peoples experiences but ABS or non-ABS it will happen.
    A few of you guys want to disable it and feel safer then go for it.

    …Can someone go out in a parking lot with ice or snow and came back here with some honest feedback with out their pucker factor up.

    Yes, too bad they didn't do that! ABS does not work properly on 2005-2010 models (which you imply by saying that it should be disabled at low speeds). I've had problems with ABS on my 2005 TRD off road; in the snow; and finally on dry pavement (with A-Traction new tires), which ended in a collision when the ABS system released the pressure from [seemingly] all wheels. Was it the ABS system? That's my best guess. There are a lot of smart people on this site who may have a better answer: ABS Failure? Unintended Acceleration? Brake fade on good ceramic brakes? I had slowed down to 25 MPH or less when it felt like someone was pushing me from behind into the vehicle in front of me. How can this be explained?

    Many different examples *have been provided by many different people. You don't have to say it, the fact you want a test on a parking lot shows that you haven't read much here.

    Let me bring you up to speed: ABS could be dangerous when trying to stop at slow speeds and going down hill on snow/ice. It could cause you to lose control of your vehicle.

    This thread is becoming a waste of time because people who haven't read it and who are simply trolling are making too much noise. There are some smart people here who do have a clue; but they can't be heard above the noise.

    I have tried a few PSIs in my tires. 40 gets the best milage and has less road noise but it will wear out my tires faster. I air up to 40 for trips. Around town Im usually at 36. When I go to an offroad park im at 25 and when I wheel I go down to 16.

    I think you all should rip the disk breaks off and replace them with drums with no power breaking and a single piston master cylinder after unplugging the ABS motor.
